Description
-Atlas Garage PRO7000ST Super Tall Four-Post Lift
The PRO7000ST is a 7,000 lb four-post lift built for one situation: a tall building, and a vehicle underneath that is itself tall. The runway rises to 147" (12' 3") on columns standing 162" (13' 6"), which is what lets a normal-height car park above a lifted pickup, van or motorhome rather than only above a low sports car.
Everything else follows from the same premise. The runways are the same heavy-duty items used on the Atlas Garage PRO9000, with welded tracks so a rolling bridge jack — the Atlas RJ6BK or RJ6BKAH, sold separately — can work on them. The lock ladder carries 21 locking positions and can be adjusted at installation, giving a near-continuous choice of parking heights rather than the coarse steps most storage lifts offer.
Read the ceiling numbers before anything else
This lift is only worth buying if your building suits it, so check this section first. The columns are 162" (13' 6") tall, and that is the number your ceiling, door track, lighting and sprinkler heads have to clear — not the runway height, and not the vehicle you plan to store.
There is one figure here we will not quietly resolve for you. Atlas's product overview describes the lift as raising a vehicle to over 12 feet (144 inches) under the runway, while the model's specification data gives clearance under the runways as 142" (11' 10"). Those are not the same measurement, and we will not average them or pick the flattering one. If your build is tight enough that a couple of inches decides it, ask us to confirm the current factory figure before you order.
Will It Fit?
- Ceiling: columns 162" (13' 6").
- Lifting height, top of runway: 147" (12' 3").
- Clearance under the runways: see the note above — plan against 142" (11' 10").
- Bay width: 110 1/2" (9' 2 1/2") without the motor, 123" (10' 3") with it.
- Bay length: 227 1/2" (18' 11 1/2") overall with the approach ramp, and 185" (15' 5") between the columns.
- Drive-through: 82 1/2" (6' 10 1/2"), with 100" (8' 4") clear between the columns.
- Runways: 21" wide, 194" (16' 2") long, set 45" apart (41 3/4" with the rails) and 83" (6' 11") across the outside edges. Deck plate is listed on this page as 4 1/2" thick, a figure the manufacturer publishes thicker — see the note below before you settle your headroom.
- Power: 220volt/1phase, requiring a 30 amp breaker — a dedicated circuit installed by an electrician.
- Air: the locks are spring-loaded and pneumatic, and compressed air is required to disengage them. The air supply is not included, so a lift with no shop air is a lift you cannot lower.
- Oil: 5 Gallons of AW32/AW46, not included.
Floor and anchoring are the customer's responsibility. We hold no slab thickness and no concrete strength for this model, and will not borrow a figure from another. Take it seriously in proportion to the height: a four-post holding a vehicle at nearly thirteen feet puts far more overturning leverage into its footings than a standard one. The installation manual linked here governs — read the foundation section before you drill, and have an unknown slab assessed.
Deck thickness: our figure and the factory's do not agree
On a lift bought for height, the deck is not a detail. The vehicle stored underneath clears the underside of the runway; the vehicle parked on top starts from its upper surface. The steel between those two faces enters every headroom sum you will do in this building — one of the few figures here that adds to a stack rather than standing alone.
The plate thickness listed on this page is ours; the manufacturer's current published specification for the PRO7000ST is thicker. On its own that is minor, and stacked with a door track or a roof line already measured to the inch it stops being minor. Neither document can be reconciled against the other from what we hold, and we are not going to nominate a winner. If your ceiling clearance is measured rather than generous, get the deck thickness from us in writing before you order — plan against the less favourable number until the factory confirms it.
How it locks, and what happens if a cable lets go
A single point release toggle beside the power unit unlocks all four spring-loaded pneumatic locks at once, so you are not walking the lift freeing one column at a time.
Behind that sits an emergency slack cable secondary lock system. It is not something you operate: it sits on standby and engages by itself if a cable is compromised or goes slack. On a storage lift that spends months loaded and untouched, an automatic secondary lock is the feature that should decide the purchase — the failure it guards against happens when nobody is in the building.
Be clear about what this lift is not
At 7,000 lbs the capacity is aimed at cars, light trucks and mid-size SUVs: this is the tall lift, not the heavy one. The cover says the same — 2 Year structural and 1 Year hydraulic is a garage-series warranty, not the commercial-grade one carried by the production four-posts in this catalogue.
Perfect For
- Collectors with tall garages — the core case. Two cars in one bay, where the lower one is a truck or a van rather than a low coupe.
- Home shops in a barn or a converted outbuilding, where the ceiling was never the limitation but a standard lift's height was.
- Service work as a secondary use — the welded runway tracks accept a rolling bridge jack for brake, tire and suspension jobs.
What's in the Box
- Four-post lift with diamond-plated, heavy-duty runways and welded rolling-jack tracks
- Steel approach ramps
- Mounting hardware
- Single point release, spring-loaded pneumatic locks, lock ladder with 21 positions
- Double lock safety system with emergency slack cable secondary locks
Sold separately: rolling bridge jacks (RJ6BK / RJ6BKAH). Not included: hydraulic oil, compressed air, anchors and the electrical circuit.

Certification, stated honestly
The data we hold for the PRO7000ST includes no third-party North American lift safety listing, and we will not imply one here — a statement about our paperwork rather than a judgment on the lift. Whether it matters depends on who is asking: commercial insurers, fleet and municipal buyers and some local inspectors require an independently listed lift and want the certificate itself. If a listing is required in your case, tell us before you order and we will go back to the manufacturer.
Shipping and delivery
The PRO7000ST ships as freight to the lower 48, charged live at checkout against your real destination rather than printed here as an estimate.
Sort the unload before you order. At 2,866 lbs crated this comes off the trailer on a forklift; the columns alone are long, heavy and awkward. Without one, take terminal pickup and collect the freight yourself. A home address carries a residential fee, so declare a residence at checkout and the shipment goes out on the right service first time.
Inspect before you sign. Write any damage, shortage or crush onto the bill of lading in front of the driver: a clean signature is the carrier's record that everything arrived intact, and a claim raised afterwards starts far weaker.
Warranty
The PRO7000ST carries a 2 Year structural and 1 Year hydraulic warranty, parts only: the covered component is supplied, while labor, freight and any lifting equipment needed to fit it are the owner's cost.
Two things protect a claim. Do not disassemble a component before the claim is approved — an opened cylinder, power unit or lock assembly is normally treated as no longer inspectable, and the claim can be refused on that alone. And keep your installation, anchor and electrical records: on a lift this tall a claim is assessed against how it was installed as closely as how it was used. Photograph the fault and call us before anything comes apart.
