Description
-Atlas 99,000 lb Mobile Column Lift System: Six Columns, No Bay Required
Every other heavy lift in this catalogue is a piece of the building. This one is not. The Maxima ML6045BC (Atlas model ATEML-6045BC) is a set of six free-standing columns, and each column is a complete machine in its own right — its own DC motor, its own pair of rechargeable batteries, its own LCD height readout, its own emergency stop, and its own hydraulic pallet-jack chassis underneath it. There is no pit, no anchor pattern, no overhead beam and no three-phase feed. You push the columns to the truck instead of driving the truck to the lift.
That is what a shop buys this for: a heavy-truck lift that does not consume a bay when it is not working, and that can be walked outside onto a level slab when the vehicle is too tall or too long to bring indoors.
One Figure to Confirm Before You Order
We would rather show you a disagreement in our own data than quietly pick the number we like. The capacity of a single column is stated two different ways in the material supplied for this model:
| Figure | Where it is stated | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity per column | Manufacturer product overview | 16,500 lbs |
| Capacity per column | Feature list and specification sheet below | 18,500 lbs |
The system is sold as a 99,000 lbs set, and 99,000 divided across six columns lands exactly on the lower figure — which is the reading we would work from. If the per-column number decides your purchase, or your insurer wants it in writing, contact us and we will confirm it with the manufacturer before you order. The system rating of 99,000 lbs is not in dispute; only the way the per-column figure has been printed.
Will It Fit?
- Ceiling. A column stands 145" (12' 1") overall. That is the number to measure against the lowest thing on your roof — a light bar, a heater flue, a door track — not the roof itself. The lift raises to 67" (5' 7") at the top of the fork.
- Storage height. Parked, a column rests at 88 1/2" (7' 4 1/2"), so a standard shop door is usually enough to move them between rooms.
- Floor space. Each column occupies roughly 43 1/2" (3' 7 1/2") across by 55 1/2" (4' 7 1/2") deep, with a column body 13 1/4" wide. Six of them need staging room as well as working room — plan where they live when they are not under a vehicle.
- Floor. Level concrete, minimum thickness six inches, outdoors included. Level matters as much as thick: the columns synchronise electronically, but nothing can correct a slab that falls away under one corner.
- Power. Charging only. The batteries recharge from the attached 110V single-phase cord — an ordinary wall outlet, not a dedicated machine circuit. There is nothing to wire in.
- Your responsibility. Verifying the slab, ceiling and working clearances is the buyer's job, and far cheaper with a tape measure than after the freight truck has arrived. Send us your measurements if you would like a second opinion.
Why Battery Power Changes How the Lift Is Used
A mains-fed column is tethered: every reposition means dragging a cord, and the working area is defined by where the outlets are. Each of these columns carries a 2.2 Kw 24V DC motor and two rechargeable batteries, and a charge is good for roughly 10 to 20 lifts depending on how heavy the loads are. In practice that is a working day of intermittent use, recharged overnight from a standard outlet.
The second half of that freedom is mechanical. Each column sits on a hydraulic pallet-jack chassis, so one person moves it the way they would move a pallet — pump the handle, the column comes off its feet, walk it into place.
Six Columns Working as One
The risk in a multi-column lift is not capacity, it is synchronisation: a vehicle rising faster at one corner is a vehicle being twisted. Three things are working against that here. All columns operate simultaneously from one control. An electronic system keeps them synchronised as they travel. And every column carries an LCD screen showing its own exact lifting height, so an operator can walk the set and read the actual numbers rather than judging alignment by eye down the length of a truck.
Holding the load is deliberately not left to hydraulics alone: flow control governs the descent, and mechanical locks are what the vehicle actually rests on. Every column also carries its own emergency stop, which matters on a six-column set — whoever is nearest the problem can stop it.
The Forks, and What They Will Take
The forks adjust to tire diameters from 19" to 44" — light-truck and van rubber at one end, commercial and agricultural tires at the other. Because the columns lift by the tire rather than a frame point, there are no adapters to select and no lift-point diagram to interpret, which matters on a mixed fleet where no two chassis are alike underneath.
Six 32' connecting cables link the set — enough run to spread the columns around a long wheelbase rather than bunch them near a controller.
Perfect For
- Truck and fleet shops with more vehicles than bays, where floor space is the constraint rather than capacity.
- Municipal and utility garages running mixed rolling stock that will not fit a single fixed lift geometry.
- Agricultural and equipment dealers who need to lift outdoors, on a level slab, at least some of the time.
- Bus and RV service where wheelbase varies more than weight does.
What's in the Box
- Six mobile columns, each with a 2.2 Kw 24V DC motor and two rechargeable batteries
- Six 32' column connecting cables
- LCD height display and emergency stop on every column
- Adjustable forks for 19" to 44" tire diameters
- 110V single-phase charging cord
Maxima tripod support stands, used to hold a vehicle for wheel-off service, are an option and are not part of this package. If wheel service is part of the plan, ask us about them before you order rather than after.

Certification
This system is ALI certified: an independent third party has listed the lift against a North American lift safety standard, rather than the manufacturer declaring its own product compliant. Commercial insurers, fleet policies and some jurisdictions ask for that listing by name. If yours does, have the requirement stated in writing and we will confirm the documentation for this model before you order.
Shipping and Delivery
Drop ships from the manufacturer, as freight, to the lower 48 states. The full set weighs 9,600 lbs and arrives as six separate columns at 1,600 lbs each — easier to receive than one monolithic crate, and still far beyond a pallet truck. Have a forklift with capacity to spare, and someone to run it.
If your site cannot unload, take terminal pickup and collect with your own equipment, or use one of our warehouse pickup locations. Delivery to a residential address carries a residential fee. Freight is quoted live at checkout against your ZIP code, so the figure you see is your own lane on the day rather than a table rate.
Count the columns and inspect them before you sign. Six is an easy number to be one short of. Photograph any damage, note it on the bill of lading in front of the driver, and only then sign — a clean signed bill of lading is the carrier's evidence that everything arrived intact.
Warranty
The system carries a 2 Year Limited warranty; our claims process is on the warranty claims page. One rule matters more than the rest: do not disassemble a suspect column, motor or battery pack before the claim is open. Stripping a component is the most common reason a genuine failure ends up outside cover. Photograph it, tell us what it did and when, and let us open the claim first.
