Description
-Atlas 412 Commercial Four-Post Lift with Two RJ6 Rolling Bridge Jacks
What sets this package apart from most 12,000 lb four-posts is not a feature, it is the fact that Atlas publishes enough numbers for you to check it against your own building before you spend the money. The concrete requirement is stated: a minimum of 6" of concrete with a 3000 psi rating. The longest vehicle is stated: a maximum wheel base of 185" (15' 5"). The gap you have to drive through is stated: 98" (8' 2"). Most lift listings at this capacity leave all three to a phone call.
Will It Fit?
Your floor. The 412 requires a minimum of 6" of concrete rated at 3000 psi. Slab thickness and strength are the customer's responsibility and they are not negotiable — a four-post lift transfers the whole vehicle weight into four small footprints, and a slab that is thin, cracked, or poured over poor fill will fail at an anchor long before the steel does. Anchoring and installation follow the manual supplied with the lift.
Your ceiling. The columns stand 89 3/4" (7' 5 3/4"). The runway lifts to 77 3/4" (6' 5 3/4"), leaving 70 1/4" (5' 10 1/4") of clearance underneath.
Your bay. Overall width across the columns is 135 1/4" (11' 3 1/4") with the motor fitted and 126 1/4" (10' 6 1/4") without it, so which side the power unit goes on is a real decision in a tight bay. Overall length with the approach ramp down is 236 1/2" (19' 8 1/2"), with 183 1/4" (15' 3 1/4") between the columns.
Your vehicles. Maximum wheel base 185" (15' 5"). Drive-through 98" (8' 2"), with 112 5/8" (9' 4 5/8") clear between the columns. The runways are 20" wide, 194 1/2" (16' 2 1/2") long and 7 1/2" thick, set 43 1/4" apart (39 3/4" with the rail) and 83 1/4" (6' 11 1/4") across the outside edges.
Your services. 220 volt, 1 phase, with a 30 amp breaker recommended — a dedicated circuit run by an electrician. Compressed air at 85-115 PSI for the single point lock release, from an external supply that is not included. And 3-5 gallons of AW32/AW46 hydraulic oil, also not included.
Where the hydraulics live, and why it shows up in the paintwork
The 412 raises on a high-strength cable system driven by an oversized hydraulic cylinder that sits beneath the runway. The older architecture puts a chain drive and an exposed cylinder up beside a column, and the consequences are mundane rather than dramatic: the cylinder occupies the exact volume a car door swings into, and chain-driven runways are leveled by adjusting chains, which takes patience to set and does not stay set. Tucking the cylinder under the runway removes the obstacle and takes the leveling chore out of the owner's routine — which is why this design shows up on lifts costing a great deal more.
Above that sit a lock ladder, a double lock safety system and an air-operated single point lock release, so one control frees all four columns together instead of a walk around the lift. The runways are diamond plated and the finish is powder coat.
The RJ6 jacks, and the number that decides whether they suit your lift
Two 6,000 lb RJ6 rolling bridge jacks come with this package. They roll along the tracks between the runways, sit under an axle or frame rail, and raise the wheels off the deck so brakes, bearings, tires and suspension can be worked on with the vehicle already in the air.
The specification to look at is the distance between runway capability of 32" to 50" — that is the span the jack adjusts across, and it is what makes a rolling jack fit a given lift and a given vehicle rather than fouling on a rail. The jack itself extends from 35" (2' 11") minimum width to 55" (4' 7") maximum, lifts to 21" (1' 9") with the adapters fitted, and runs on air at 70-115 PSI.
The scissor mechanism lifts vertically rather than through an arc, so the pads stay square on the lift points as the axle rises. Each jack ships at 350 lbs, and a four piece truck adapter set is included.
Perfect For
- General repair shops — a drive-on bay for exhaust, driveline, fluids and inspections, which the jacks convert into a brake and tire bay in under a minute.
- Light truck and van work — 12,000 lbs and a 185" wheel base covers most of what a commercial customer drives in.
- Tire shops — four wheels accessible with the vehicle stable on its own suspension until you choose otherwise.
- Well-equipped private garages with a 6" slab, 220 volt power and shop air. It is a bolt-down commercial lift, not a portable one.

Certification, said straight
The manufacturer data we hold for the 412 and the RJ6 does not include a third-party North American lift safety listing for either item, and we will not imply one. We are not telling you the lift is unsafe; we are telling you what we can and cannot evidence, which is a different and more useful thing.
The distinction matters to a particular buyer: commercial insurers, fleet and municipal purchasing policies and some local inspectors require an independently listed lift and ask to see the certificate itself. If that is your situation, raise it with us before ordering and we will go back to the manufacturer for the current documentation.
Shipping and delivery
Lift and jacks ship as freight inside the lower 48, and the freight cost is calculated live at checkout for the address you enter, so it reflects today's rates rather than a figure typed into a page.
Arrange the unload before you order. The lift crate alone is 2,800 lbs and each jack adds 350 lbs, so this comes off the trailer on a forklift. If that is not available to you, choose terminal pickup and collect it with your own equipment. Home addresses can be served and carry a residential fee — declare it at checkout and the shipment goes out on the right service first time.
Inspect before signing. Count the crates against the packing list, look for punctures, crush damage and shifted banding, and write anything you find onto the bill of lading in front of the driver. A clean signature is the carrier's record that the freight arrived intact, and a claim raised later starts from a much weaker position.
Warranty
The 412 carries a 5 yr structural and 2 yr hydraulic warranty, parts only. The RJ6 jacks carry 1 Year, parts only. Parts only means the covered component is supplied, while labor, freight and any lifting equipment needed to install it are the owner's cost.
Protect the claim by leaving the part intact: do not disassemble a cylinder, power unit or lock assembly before the claim is approved. An opened component is normally treated as no longer inspectable and a claim that would have been honored can be refused for that reason alone. Photograph the fault, call us, and let the claim be opened first.
