AMGO 409-DPX: 81″ of locked clearance underneath, which is the whole reason for the X

A double parking lift is only useful if something can actually live underneath it. On the 409-DPX the maximum locked height beneath the runway is 81″, with 83 3/4″ of raw clearance — enough that a full-size SUV or a light truck parks below rather than only a low sedan. The standard 409-DP is the shorter unit and locks appreciably lower — the X is the difference between storing two of your cars and two of your tall cars.

The rest of it is a genuine double-wide parking structure: two side-by-side parking units sharing one frame, 9,000 lbs total lifting capacity with a 6,000 lbs maximum per vehicle, and a footprint deliberately built to turn two floor spaces into four parking spaces.

How four cars fit in two spaces

Each half of the 409-DPX is its own parking unit. Two vehicles drive on and are raised; two more park underneath. Nobody has to move a third car to get to a fourth, because the two decks are independent side to side rather than one long shared platform.

That is why the width figures look large: this is a two-bay structure, not a one-bay lift, and it has to be measured as one. The widths listed on this page are in the table below, and the manufacturer's current published specification disagrees with them — read the note before you chalk the floor.

Will It Fit?

Every one of these is the buyer's responsibility to confirm before ordering. We cannot see the garage, the door tracks or the slab.

  • Ceiling — measure this first. Overall height is 96 5/8″. Then check what actually has to fit: the vehicle parked underneath plus the deck above it plus the vehicle on top. A ceiling that clears the structure but not the stacked pair is no use.
  • Width — contested. This page lists 198 7/16″ overall and 188 7/8″ between the columns, a drive-thru width of 14.75 ft and 15.65 ft between the columns. The manufacturer publishes a narrower structure.
  • Length. 238 9/16″ overall including the ramps. The ramps fold, but you still need approach room in front of them.
  • Drive-through — contested. This page lists 177 3/4″ between the carriages; the manufacturer publishes a narrower opening. Plan the entry path around the wider of your two vehicles and treat the figure as unconfirmed.
  • Floor. The structure carries four vehicles' worth of load into its base plates and stays loaded for long, static periods, so slab condition matters more here than on a lift loaded only during a service. The concrete specification is in the installation manual attached to this listing — read it before you order.
  • Power — do not act on the figures on this page. The electrical specification we list and the one the manufacturer publishes are not the same, and the difference is the kind an electrician cannot undo. The next section explains it.

Wire nothing until the electrical supply is confirmed

Confirm the power supply with us in writing before a circuit is run, and confirm the widths before the bay is laid out. The specification shown on this page and the one the manufacturer currently publishes for the 409-DPX are not the same document, and on this model the gap covers the item that is expensive to get wrong. Our page describes a higher-voltage standard build with a lower-voltage alternative to be specified at the time of order. The manufacturer's current sheet gives a single configuration on the lower supply, with a smaller motor, rather than a pair of options. Those are different breakers, different cable and a different quote, and conduit pulled for the wrong one is paid for twice.

The disagreement is not only electrical. Against this page the manufacturer also publishes a narrower overall width, a narrower span between the columns, a narrower drive-through, a much smaller gap between the two parking units, a lighter gross weight and a longer lifting time. We assert neither side, and deliberately print no second set of dimensions: sellers of this lift republish our figures word for word, so the same numbers appearing elsewhere prove nothing. We will obtain the factory specification for your order — ask before an electrician or a concrete crew is booked.

Getting on and off it: 6 1/8″ and four folding ramps

Minimum platform height is 6 1/8″. That number does more work than any other on a parking lift, because a low-profile deck means a short, shallow ramp angle, and a shallow ramp is what stops a sports car scraping its front air dam every single time it is parked. If the car you are storing is the reason you are buying the lift, that is the figure to care about.

The 409-DPX ships with four foldable drive-on ramps — one pair per parking unit — and non-slip diamond platforms. Folded up, they give back the approach floor, which in a tight garage is a real gain rather than a feature line.

The locks, and a control that is deliberately hidden

Parking lifts hold load continuously, often unattended. The 409-DPX carries primary safety locks and a cable-slack protection device as standard, plus AMGO's patented concealed safety lock control with a manual single-point release. Concealed is the useful word: the release is not a lever anyone can knock or a child can find, and the single point means both sides come down together instead of one corner at a time.

Adjustable multiple safety ladders set the parked height, so the deck rests mechanically rather than on hydraulic pressure for weeks. A pull rope is standard, and the columns are double S-shaped — a profile that stiffens against bending rather than just adding steel.

Perfect For

  • Collectors doubling a garage who need real height underneath, not just a low car under a low deck.
  • Dealerships and small lots storing inventory in a fixed footprint.
  • Commercial buildings and shared garages where floor area is fixed and parking demand is not.
  • Mixed households — an SUV below, a car above.

What's in the Box

Supplied as standard: four foldable drive-on ramps, non-slip diamond platforms, the primary safety lock set, the cable-slack protection device, the concealed safety lock control with its manual single-point release, adjustable multiple safety ladders and a pull rope. Which power unit ships depends on the electrical specification confirmed for your order — see the note above. Anchors and accessories vary by configuration.

Certification, stated plainly

The product data supplied to us for the 409-DPX states no North American third-party lift safety listing, and we will not imply one. A manufacturer's own declaration of conformity is a different document from an independent third-party listing of the finished lift, and does not substitute for one. That matters more on a parking lift than a service lift: these sit loaded for long periods, in buildings that often come with an insurer, a strata board or a code officer. If any of those apply to you, get the requirement in writing before you buy.

Shipping and delivery

Freight only, lower 48. The carrier will call to book a delivery window. Unloading is the customer's responsibility — a crated double parking structure needs a forklift, a telehandler or a dock, or you can take terminal pickup and collect it with suitable equipment. A residential delivery address carries a residential fee, quoted live at checkout. Warehouse pickup is available at Manning, SC, Dallas, TX and Temecula, CA.

Inspect before signing. Photograph the crate and record any damage on the bill of lading with the driver present — a clean signature closes the door on a claim.

Warranty

The applicable warranty terms, exclusions and claim procedure are published on our warranty claims page. Check the current terms there.

Do not dismantle a component before a claim is agreed. Leave the power unit and the lock assembly as they are, describe the symptom, and let the claim start cleanly.
