-Description
-Quincy G313H30HCE QP 13 HP, 30-Gallon Two-Stage Truck Mount Air Compressor, Honda Electric Start
Gas-driven compressors are usually the cheap end of the catalogue: a splash-lubricated pump bolted to an engine, sold on horsepower and pushed hard until it dies. This one is not built that way. The G313H30HCE runs full pressure lubrication, fed by a gerotor positive displacement oil pump that pushes oil to the crankshaft, bearings and rods the way an engine does, instead of relying on a dipper to fling it around the crankcase. That is the single specification that separates a compressor rated for 100% duty cycle from one that needs to stop and cool off, and it is the reason this unit belongs on a service truck that works all day.
It is a 13 HP Honda GX engine with 12-volt electric start driving a two-stage cast-iron belt-drive pump onto a 30-gallon horizontal tank, rated to 175 PSI, in a package weighing 515 lbs.
Pressure Lubrication Is the Whole Argument
Splash lubrication works by having a dipper on the connecting rod throw oil upward as the crank turns. It is simple, it is cheap, and it depends on the machine being roughly level and not running continuously. A truck-mounted compressor is neither of those things reliably: it sits on whatever grade the job is on, and on a busy day it never stops.
Full pressure lubrication solves both. The gerotor pump is a positive displacement design, so it delivers oil at a rate set by shaft speed rather than by luck, and it keeps a film on the crankshaft, bearings and rods regardless of attitude or run time. A spin-on oil filter sits in that circuit, which means the oil is cleaned continuously and serviced the way you would service a truck engine, rather than simply drained and replaced when it turns black. That combination is what supports the 100% duty cycle rating.
Electric Start, and Why It Matters on a Service Truck
The Honda GX engine is fitted with 12-volt button start backed by recoil. On paper that is a convenience feature. In practice, a rope-start compressor on a truck is a machine that gets started once in the morning and left idling all day, because nobody wants to pull it again at the third stop. Button start changes the habit: the operator shuts it down between jobs and restarts it in a second, which saves fuel, saves engine hours and makes the truck quieter on a customer's driveway. Note that the battery and cable required for the electric start are not supplied with the compressor.
An automatic idle control is fitted, so the engine drops back when demand stops instead of running at full speed against a satisfied tank.
The Pump and the Cooling Package
The pump is a high-performance cast-iron QT-7.5 belt drive unit with an aluminium head, chosen for strength and heat dissipation, and sealed with graphite cylinder and head gaskets for positive sealing integrity. Reed valves are stainless steel with valve bumpers, which controls valve lift and resists the corrosion that unfiltered outdoor air brings with it. Quincy rates the pump for 50,000 hours or more of service.
Between the stages sits a high-efficiency fin and tube intercooler, cooled by an electronically balanced fan-type cast-iron flywheel that directs air across the intercooler, cylinders and heads. Cooling matters more on a mobile unit than a stationary one, because a truck body restricts airflow and a job site rarely offers shade. Reducing interstage temperature is what protects the second stage and keeps efficiency up at 175 PSI.
Will It Fit on the Truck?
The unit measures 42" long, 21" wide and 40" tall, and weighs 515 lbs dry. Before you commit a deck to it, check three things: that the mounting area can carry 515 lbs plus the oil and the fuel without flexing, that the exhaust and intake sit clear of anything that can be scorched or that will feed the engine hot air, and that the 40" height leaves the tank drain and the oil sight glass reachable once the unit is bolted down. Mounting, fastener specification, exhaust routing and the 12-volt supply for the starter are the customer's responsibility.
Perfect For
- Mobile mechanics and service trucks that need shop-grade air away from a building.
- Tyre service and roadside operations working impact tools all day with no power supply.
- Construction and utility crews on sites with no reliable electricity.
- Fleet maintenance departments that want one compressor spec used on every truck.
What's in the Box
Supplied as a mounted assembly: the 13 HP Honda GX engine with electric start and recoil backup, the cast-iron QT-7.5 two-stage belt-drive pump, the gerotor oil pump and spin-on filter, the fin and tube intercooler, the cast-iron flywheel, an air filter and pressure gauge, and the 30-gallon horizontal tank. The starter battery and its cable are not included. Mounting hardware for your specific truck body, fuel supply and any enclosure are separate.

Certification, Honestly
The manufacturer's data for this unit records an ASME marking together with a CSA marking. Treat them as separate statements about separate things: one concerns the pressure vessel and how it was built and inspected, the other concerns electrical and product safety. Neither implies the other, and neither is a substitute for the mounting and securement rules that apply once the compressor is bolted to a vehicle.
That last point is worth saying plainly, because a truck-mounted compressor crosses into vehicle territory. Load securement, weight distribution and any inspection regime your fleet operates are governed by rules that no marking on the machine addresses. Check the data plate on the unit itself when it arrives, and check your own fleet requirements separately.
Shipping and Delivery
Shipped by freight to the lower 48 states. At 515 lbs it moves on a pallet and cannot be handed over from a van, so arrange a forklift, a dock, or a pickup at the freight terminal. Deliveries to residential addresses carry a residential fee. Gas-engine equipment ships without fuel.
Check the pallet before signing. Look for a bent shroud, a damaged flywheel guard, oil or fuel-system parts knocked loose, and dents in the tank, and record every one of them on the bill of lading in front of the driver. Signing clean and calling later is how freight claims are lost.
Warranty
The compressor carries a 1-year factory warranty from Quincy, extendable to a 3-year "No Bull" warranty when the manufacturer's conditions are met, which involve purchasing the matching maintenance kit with the compressor and registering the unit. Sort both at the time of purchase; neither can be applied retrospectively. The Honda engine is covered separately by its own manufacturer's warranty, so keep the engine documentation with the compressor paperwork.
If something fails, open the claim before you open the machine. Stripping a pump or an engine ahead of inspection is the single most reliable way to have a legitimate claim declined.
