What separates this TS58R kit from the others in the line is not the tool. It is that the sensor block is split across both valve-stem families: silver metal clamp-in stems and black rubber snap-in stems, bought together. Every shop that services tire pressure monitoring hits the same wall — the sensor on the shelf is the wrong stem type for the car on the rack. A mixed block is how you stop that happening on a Friday afternoon.
The sensors are TruSensor universal 2-in-1 units. Four Ways to Programme a Sensor
New sensors can be created four different ways, and knowing which to reach for is most of the skill:
- Copy by activation — read the old sensor and clone its ID into the new one. Fastest when the failed sensor still transmits.
- Manual input — type the ID from the sensor body or the vehicle record. The fallback when the old sensor is dead.
- Auto-create ID — the tool generates fresh IDs, up to five sensors at a time, for a complete set on a new wheel package.

Through OBD mode the tool addresses the vehicle ECU directly over the OBD II connection, giving an immediate read of all TPMS conditions and writing sensor IDs and positions where the vehicle requires them to be taught rather than learned by driving. A tool without that connection leaves you telling a customer to drive around the block and hope.
