Wheelbase range. The telescoping asymmetric arms reach from 30.75" to 59.25". That span is what lets one lift take a compact sedan in the morning and a long-bed pickup in the afternoon without the technician fighting the arms into place.

Concrete. A two-post lift transfers the entire load into the slab through the anchors. The floor must meet the manufacturer's specified thickness and compressive strength, be level, and be free of cracks and expansion joints where the anchors land. Verifying the slab, and the anchoring itself, is the buyer's responsibility. If your slab's age or specification is unknown, core it or have it assessed before the lift arrives — this is the single most common reason an installation stops halfway through.

Numbers on this listing that do not agree, and what we suggest you do

• Maximum lifting height. The description text and the feature list on this page state 82.75". Our specification table states 70.85", measured with no adapters fitted. Those are not the same measurement and we are not going to average them. If working height under the vehicle is what decides this purchase — and for a shop doing exhaust and driveline work, it usually is — ask us to confirm the figure against the manufacturer's sheet before you order.
• Overall width. The description text says the lift extends to 158". The specification table says 135". Same caution: if bay width is tight, confirm it with us first.
• Shipping weight. The specification table records 1,367 lb. A second weight field in our catalogue for this product plainly repeats the overall column height instead of a weight, so ignore that one. Treat 1,367 lb as the working figure for planning unloading, and ask us to confirm the crated weight before delivery day.

Why clear floor changes how the bay works

An overhead two-post lift carries a crossbar between the columns at the top. It is a convenient place to hang the hydraulic lines and the shutoff, and it puts a permanent ceiling over the bay. A clear-floor design moves that connection to a baseplate on the ground instead.

What you get is vertical freedom. Nothing overhead limits how tall a vehicle you can raise, and nothing stops a gantry crane, an engine hoist, a transmission jack on a long boom or a technician's own head from occupying the space above the roofline. For a shop pulling engines or working on high-roof vans, that is not a preference — it is the difference between the lift being usable for the job and not.

The cost is the baseplate itself, which is a low steel ramp across the floor between the columns. You will roll a jack over it and you will sweep around it.

Asymmetric arms, and why the doors matter

On an asymmetric lift the columns are rotated and the front arms are shorter than the rears, so the vehicle sits further back between the posts than it would on a symmetric lift. The point of that geometry is door clearance: with the vehicle set back, the driver's and passenger's doors open past the columns instead of into them.

Anyone who has spent a day getting in and out of a car on a symmetric lift understands the value immediately. It also matters for wide-body vehicles and for tight bays, where the alternative is repositioning the vehicle to reach the interior.

One-touch lock release

The safety locks engage automatically as the lift rises and hold the load mechanically, independent of hydraulic pressure — that is what stops a lift dropping if a hose fails. Releasing them is the fiddly part on many lifts, requiring a hand on each column. This one uses a single-point manual release so both columns disengage in one motion.
