A four-post lift holds a vehicle by its tires. That is what makes it stable, easy to drive onto and good for alignment and storage, and it is also what stops it being a service lift, because you cannot take a wheel off a vehicle that is standing on its wheels. The thing that changes that is a rolling jack, and on most four-post lifts it is a separate purchase made months later when the owner discovers the limitation.
The KT-4H150 includes one, rated at 6,000 lbs. That single figure decides what this lift can actually do. A 15,000 lb four-post platform with a 6,000 lb jack under it will lift an axle of anything the platform will hold, which turns an alignment and storage lift into a lift that does brakes, suspension, hubs and tires as well. Read the jack rating on anything you compare this against, because it is the number that separates a lift you work on from a lift you park on.
Will It Fit?
This is the section that stops installations on the day, so read it before anything else. Every item is the buyer's responsibility to confirm, and we cannot see your building, your slab or your ceiling from here.
- Length. 245.31 inches (6,231 mm) overall with the ramps.
- Width. 136.06 inches (3,456 mm) overall, with 118.11 inches (3,000 mm) between the columns and a drive-through clearance of 117.75 inches. The drive-through figure is the hard one: it decides how wide a vehicle can be driven straight in, and unlike capacity it cannot be worked around.
- Height, and this needs checking against the manual. Three different height figures are published for this lift: the post height as 85.63 inches (2,175 mm), the maximum lifting height at the top of the runway as 92.52 inches (2,350 mm), and a lifting height of up to 75 inches. Those do not form a consistent set, and a lifting height above the post height is not physically coherent. Do not size your ceiling from this page: confirm the rise against the installation manual, and remember the figure that matters to your roof is your tallest vehicle's height plus the rise, not the height of the lift.
- Concrete, and we are not going to guess for you. Both parts of this listing agree on the compressive strength: a minimum of 3,000 PSI. They do not agree on the minimum slab thickness. The main description calls for 5.9 inches; the Installation block further down this same page calls for 3.93 inches (100 mm). On a lift carrying 15,000 lbs above someone's head that is not a number to average or to pick the friendlier of. Confirm the thickness requirement against the installation manual and your installer before you drill an anchor, and call us if you want us to check it with Katool first.

Four posts, spring locks, and a slack-cable backstop
The safety system on this lift works in two independent layers, and understanding the difference is worth a minute. The primary layer is spring-loaded mechanical locks that engage automatically at multiple heights as the lift rises. Once they are engaged, a raised vehicle is standing on steel, not on hydraulic pressure. That is the whole reason a technician can work under it: a hydraulic system that leaks down is an inconvenience, not an accident.
The second layer is a slack-cable device. Four-post lifts are levelled by cables running between the columns, and the failure that matters is not a cable snapping under load, it is a cable going slack, which is what happens if one end lets go or a sheave seizes. A slack-cable device senses that loss of tension and stops the platform descending.
Built for alignment, useful for everything else
Alignment work asks two things of a lift that ordinary service does not: the runways must be level and stay level under load, and the vehicle must be able to move slightly on the platform while its weight is on it. The KT-4H150 uses synchronised hydraulic chains between the posts so the platform rises evenly rather than one corner leading, which matters most with an unevenly loaded vehicle such as a pickup with a heavy engine and an empty bed.

Certification, stated plainly
Katool's description says this lift's redundant safety systems align with CE certification standards. Read that for precisely what it says and no more. CE is a European conformity marking that rests on the manufacturer's own declaration of conformity; it is not the same document as a North American third-party lift safety listing issued by an independent testing body, and it is not a substitute for one. The phrase align with is also doing work in that sentence, and we are not going to upgrade it into a certification claim on the manufacturer's behalf.
For a home garage and for a great many independent shops this never comes up. It does come up for some commercial insurance policies, for some fleet and municipal operations, and for local jurisdictions that name a specific independent listing in their code. Find out what your insurer, your inspector or your employer actually requires before you order, not after 4,850 lbs of lift is anchored to your floor.
Shipping and delivery
This lift travels by freight truck to addresses in the lower 48 states, and freight is quoted live at checkout against your address so the figure you see is a current carrier rate rather than an estimate that has gone stale. At 4,850 lbs the crate is not something a delivery driver will place for you: unloading is the receiver's responsibility and you need a forklift, a machine, or a plan and some help. If that is not realistic, collecting from the carrier's local terminal is usually easier and the terminal has the equipment. Delivery to a residential address carries a residential fee, applied at checkout when you choose that option.
Inspect before you sign. Walk the shipment, look for crushed corners, bent runway edges, shifted banding and any sign of hydraulic oil, and write anything you find on the bill of lading while the driver is still there. Photograph it. A clean signature is the carrier's evidence that everything arrived undamaged, and on a shipment this size that is a very expensive thing to have signed away.
Warranty
Katool publishes a written warranty document covering this lift. One warning applies to every hydraulic lift no matter who built it: if something fails, do not take the power unit, a cylinder, a cable assembly or a lock mechanism apart before a claim is open. A disassembled component is normally treated as a modified one, and it is the fastest way to lose coverage that would otherwise have been honoured. Photograph the fault, record the serial number, and call before you touch it.
