Katool KT-4H110: an 11,000 lb four-post lift with four locking devices, not one

The number most four-post pages lead with is capacity. The number worth leading with here is four - the KT-4H110 carries four mechanical locking devices, one per column, and each of those carries a primary and a secondary lock. Above that sits a slack-cable device that engages if a lift cable ever goes loose, and all four columns are released from a single manual release on one side. A vehicle parked on this lift is sitting on steel in eight places, not on hydraulic pressure, and the operator is not walking a circuit of the lift to release it one column at a time.

The second thing the boilerplate never tells you is how long it takes. Katool publishes the cycle: roughly 83 seconds up and 40 seconds down. That is a real number you can put against your own bay throughput, and it is a more honest way to describe a lift than adjectives are.

Will It Fit?

This is the section that decides whether you can buy this lift, and every measurement in it is yours to confirm against your own building before you order. We cannot see your bay.

  • Floor width. 126 in overall (3,200 mm), with 112.81 in (2,865 mm) between the inside faces of the columns. The inside figure is the one that governs door swing and how much room a technician has beside the vehicle.
  • Floor length. Here the data disagrees with itself and we would rather say so: the product overview gives an overall length of 223 in, while the specification sheet gives 229.73 in (5,835 mm) with the ramps fitted. Plan your bay against the larger figure and confirm with us before ordering if your space is tight.
  • Ceiling. The posts stand 94.88 in (2,410 mm), quoted as 95 in in the overview. The height that matters is not the post - it is the runway height at full rise plus the height of the tallest vehicle you intend to park up there. Maximum lifting height is given as 84.25 in (2,140 mm) on the specification sheet and rounded to 85 in in the overview, so take the vehicle roof height and add roughly 85 in before you look at your roof.
  • Drive-on height. Minimum runway height is 6.2 in (157 mm), which is what lets a low car drive on without scraping at the ramp transition.
  • Concrete. This one also disagrees between two parts of the same data set. The installation notes call for a slab at least 3.93 in (100 mm) thick at 3,000 psi; the product overview calls for 5.9 in at the same 3,000 psi. Build to the thicker figure - 5.9 in at 3,000 psi minimum, level, unbroken, no expansion joint or crack under the anchor pattern - and confirm the requirement in the manual that ships with the lift. If you do not know what your slab is, core it before you order.

Power: check which configuration you are buying

The feature list says the hydraulic system is available in 110V/60Hz/1PH or optionally in 220V/60Hz/1PH. The specification sheet lists the motor as 110VAC/60Hz/1PH. The overview describes a 3.0 HP motor running on 220V/60Hz/1PH. Those are configuration options rather than a mistake, but they are exactly the kind of detail that turns into an electrician's callout on installation day, so confirm the configuration on your order rather than assuming. Whichever you take, it is a dedicated circuit, and it needs to exist before the lift is stood up.

What 11,000 lb buys, and where the weight goes

Rated capacity is 11,000 lbs (4,990 kg). A four-post spreads that load across four columns and two runways rather than through four arms and two columns, which is why four-post lifts are the ones people leave vehicles standing on. The runways are non-skid diamond plate, which matters more than it sounds: a four-post is driven onto, and the surface a tire meets at the top of a ramp is the surface a technician also walks on with oily boots. The lift itself weighs 2,116 lbs (960 kg), which is worth knowing for the day it is delivered as much as for the day it is installed.

Power column on the side you want it

The powerside column can be installed at either side and at the front or the rear. That reads like a footnote until you lay out a bay: it decides which side the power unit and its hoses live on, and therefore which side a technician walks past twenty times a day, where the electrical supply has to terminate, and whether the lift can sit against a wall at all. Deciding it before installation is free. Changing it afterwards is not.

Perfect For

  • Storage and stacking in a home garage with the ceiling height for it - a second car underneath is the classic reason to buy a four-post.
  • General service shops doing brake, exhaust, tyre and undercarriage work where drive-on is quicker than positioning arms.
  • Trucks and SUVs up to the 11,000 lb rating, which covers most of what arrives at an independent shop.
  • Long-term projects, where a vehicle sits for weeks on mechanical locks rather than on jack stands.

What is included, and what is not

  • Four columns, two runways with non-skid diamond plate
  • Four mechanical locking devices, each with primary and secondary locks
  • Slack-cable secondary safety device
  • Single-point manual safety lock release
  • Two drip trays and a jack tray

Sold separately: the caster kit that lets the lift be repositioned, and rolling jacks for wheels-free work. Anchors, electrical work and any slab preparation are not in the crate.

Certification, stated plainly

Katool markets the KT-4H110 as CE approved and certified, tested to 115% dynamic and 150% static loading. Read that for exactly what it is. CE is a European conformity marking that rests on the manufacturer's own declaration of conformity, and it is not the same document as a North American third-party lift safety listing, nor a substitute for one. For a home garage and for a great many independent shops the distinction never comes up. It does come up for some commercial insurance policies, for some fleet and municipal operations, and for jurisdictions whose code names a specific listing. Find out what your insurer or inspector actually requires before you order, not after the lift is anchored to your floor.

Shipping and delivery

This lift ships by freight truck to addresses in the lower 48 states, and the freight is quoted live at checkout against your address rather than estimated in advance. Unloading is the receiver's responsibility - the columns and runways arrive as long, heavy crated assemblies, so you need a forklift with the capacity and reach for them, or a booked collection from the carrier's local terminal, which is often the easier route because the terminal is already equipped. Delivery to a residential address carries a residential fee, added at checkout when you choose it.

Inspect before you sign. Walk the crates, look for bent runway ends, crushed corners, missing banding, damaged ramps and any sign of oil, and write what you find on the bill of lading with the driver still there. Photograph everything at the same time. A clean signature is the carrier's evidence that the shipment arrived intact, and that is a hard position to argue with later.

Warranty

Katool publishes a written warranty document for this lift and we will send you the current copy before purchase if the terms are part of your decision. One warning applies to every hydraulic lift regardless of make: if something fails, do not take apart the power unit, a cylinder, a cable assembly or a lock mechanism before a claim is open. A disassembled component is normally treated as a modified one, and that is the quickest way to lose cover you were otherwise entitled to. Photograph the fault, note the serial number, and call us first.
