Description
-When it is down, the floor is just floor
The SP-7XEF is the flush-mount member of this scissor family, and the whole argument for it is what your bay looks like when the lift is not in use. Lowered, the platforms sit flush with the concrete. There is no ramp to drive up, no step to trip on, no hose cover to steer a floor jack around and no six-inch obstacle sitting in the middle of a bay you might want to use for a gearbox rebuild that afternoon. You park a car on it, you roll a toolbox across it, you sweep it.
Everything above the floor is the same proposition as any full-rise scissor: 7,000 lbs (3,175 kg) of capacity, frame-engaging pads, a rise to 70.5" (1,791 mm) in 45 Seconds, and no columns anywhere. You get close to two-post working height while giving up none of the overhead space and none of the wall clearance that two posts demand.
The decision this lift really asks you to make
A flush-mount lift needs a recess in the concrete to sit in, and that is a construction job, not an unboxing. It has to be formed, or cut and re-poured, to the manufacturer's dimensions before the lift arrives. If your slab is already poured and you were not planning building work, the surface-mount version of this same lift is the sensible answer and it is sold separately.
Our record for this product does not state the recess dimensions, the concrete thickness or the required strength. Those are in the installation manual linked on this page, and they are not numbers to estimate from a photograph. Ask us in writing before you order and we will get the foundation requirement confirmed. Verifying the slab, the ceiling and the electrical supply is the buyer's responsibility, and on a flush-mount lift that verification happens before anybody breaks ground.
The platform is listed two different ways, and we are not going to pick one
Platform size decides which lift points on which vehicles you can reach, so it is worth being exact about — and our two sources are not exact with each other.
| Source | Platform size |
|---|---|
| The product copy currently on this page | 22" x 63" |
| BendPak published specification sheet | 21.75" (550 mm) wide x 62.5" (1,590 mm) long |
The gap is small and it may well be nothing more than a rounded figure in the marketing copy, but we cannot prove that from what we hold, so both are shown with the source named. If a fraction of an inch of platform decides whether the lift suits your vehicles, ask us to confirm it in writing before you order and we will take the figure from the manufacturer rather than from whichever of our own sources reads better. Note also that the platforms carry ramp extensions: extended, the platform length is 74" (1,880 mm), which is the figure that matters for longer wheelbases.
Will It Fit?
- Floor length. 106" (2,692 mm) overall.
- Between the platforms. 38" (968 mm), which is the open working width down the centre of the car.
- Ceiling. Maximum height raised is 70.5" (1,791 mm); add the height of the tallest vehicle you will lift, and anything hanging from the roof.
- Lowered. Flush with the concrete, once the recess is prepared.
- Power. 208-240 VAC / 50-60 Hz / 1Ph.
- Indoors only. This lift is designed for indoor use and is not suitable for outdoor installation — the manufacturer states it plainly and so do we.
Lock heights, and why the lowest one is published
The safety locks are embedded in the bases and offer multiple locking positions, so the car can be set at a comfortable working height and left resting on steel rather than on hydraulic pressure. The published lock range runs from a lowest lock at 24.5" (622.3 mm) to a top lock at 69.75". That lowest figure is more useful than it looks: it tells you the height a wheel-off job will actually sit at when you want the car low and stable, rather than at full rise.
The locks hold whether or not there is power or hydraulic pressure in the system. That is the point of them, and it is the reason the operating instruction is always to raise past the height you want and settle back down onto the locks.
Console, power unit and where you stand
Controls, hydraulic hoses and air lines all terminate in one console, and the console position is not fixed — it can be sited to suit the way your bay is laid out and the side you prefer to work from. On a flush-mount installation this matters more than on a surface-mount one, because the conduit runs are part of the concrete work and moving them afterwards is not a five-minute job. Decide where the operator stands before the recess is formed.
Behind the console, a maintenance-free electric-hydraulic power unit drives dual hydraulic cylinders, one per frame, so both platforms rise together under their own pressure rather than through a mechanical linkage.
Perfect For
- Shops with a bay to spare but no floor to spare, where the lift has to disappear when it is not in use.
- Showrooms, detailing bays and display spaces that cannot live with a raised platform in the middle of the floor.
- New builds and refits, where the concrete is going in anyway and the recess costs almost nothing to add at that stage.
- General repair work — brakes, exhaust, suspension, inspection — on passenger cars and light trucks within the rated capacity.
What's in the Box
From this model's own feature list and description: the two frame-engaging platforms with drive-up ramps, ramp extensions and lift pads with rubber contact points; the bases housing the scissor legs, hydraulic and air cylinders and embedded safety locks; anchor bolts; the console with the power unit, hose covers and hinged and fixed sections; dual hydraulic cylinders; hardened pivot pins with Zerk fittings; and the equalisation torsion bar. The Lift Arm Kit is an optional attachment and is not included — it is what extends compatibility to a wider range of vehicle sizes, so decide about it at order time rather than afterwards.

Certification, stated honestly
We hold no third-party safety listing for this lift, and we will not imply one by writing around the subject. That describes our paperwork, not the machine's engineering.
An independent North American lift safety listing is an outside body examining a design and listing the product; a manufacturer's own declaration does not stand in for it. Insurers, fleet operators and some local code officials treat the independent listing as a condition, particularly in a commercial workplace with employees. If yours does, tell us before you order and we will ask the manufacturer for the current position in writing.
Shipping and delivery
Freight only, to the lower 48 states, priced live at checkout for your own address — which is why no shipping figure appears on this page.
Delivery is kerbside. Arrange unloading first: a forklift and an operator on site, or collection from the freight terminal, which for a crate this size is often the easier route. Warehouse pickup is available for this brand from our BendPak locations, and a residential address carries a residential fee. Inspect the shipment before you sign and write any damage onto the bill of lading at the time — a clean signature makes a later claim very hard to win.
Warranty
The manufacturer's warranty document is linked on this page; read the term and the exclusions there rather than any summary of them. Whatever the terms, never dismantle a component you intend to claim on — photograph the fault, leave it assembled and contact us first. A stripped part is the usual reason a sound claim is refused.
