Four published lock heights, so the car sits where the job wants it

A low-rise lift that only goes up and down is a jack with ambitions. The BendPak P-9000LT publishes four discrete safety-lock heights — 15 in. (381 mm), 19 in. (483 mm), 21.5 in. (546 mm) and 23.5 in. (597 mm) — before full rise at 24 in. (610 mm). That is a working choice rather than a spec-sheet ornament. A wheel comes off comfortably at one height, a rocker seam is inspected at another, and an oil drain wants a different one again. Setting the car down on a lock that suits the task, rather than holding it at the top of the stroke because that is where the lift stops, is the difference between a bay that runs smoothly and one that fights you.

Capacity is 9,000 lbs. (4,082 kg). BendPak describes this model as a heavier-duty development of the P-6B with the lift capacity increased by 30%, and the features that made the earlier lift popular carried over: dual-approach design, an open centre, and a hands-free safety check.

The open centre is the reason a lube bay can sell wheel work

This lift engages the vehicle frame and leaves the middle of the car clear, which means the wheels are free while the vehicle is up. That single geometric fact is what lets a fast-lube operation take on tyre and brake work without buying a second, taller lift or sending the customer somewhere else. It also mounts outside the pit rail, so it does not intrude on the centre working area of an existing pit — an important detail if you are converting a bay rather than building one.

The lifting arms and the upper platform are both reinforced specifically for inboard loading, which is the load case that punishes a low-rise lift: weight applied toward the middle of the platform rather than out at the ends.

Will It Fit?

  • Fully lowered. 4 in. (102 mm). That is the number that decides whether a low-stance car can be driven over it, and with the extended approach ramps fitted the slope is gentle enough that low ground-clearance vehicles do not scrape.
  • Full rise. 24 in. (610 mm), or 27 in. (686 mm) with the rubber lift blocks in place.
  • Platform. 58.5 in. (1,484 mm) long by 24 in. (610 mm) wide.
  • Overall length. 124.6 in. (3,165 mm) — that is the surface configuration with its approach ramps, and it is the figure to chalk on the floor.
  • Power. 1.5 HP, 208-230 VAC, 60 Hz, 1 Ph. Lifting time is 55 seconds.

Floor space, ceiling clearance for a raised vehicle and the electrical supply are the buyer's responsibility to confirm before ordering. Our record does not state a concrete thickness or strength requirement for this model, and a low-rise lift still puts concentrated load into the slab, so please do not assume an existing floor is suitable — particularly around an old pit, where the edge is the weakest part. The installation manual linked on this page carries the requirement and we will confirm it in writing on request.

Surface today, flush-mounted later

This is the practical difference between the two models in the range, and it runs in both directions. The P-9000LT is the surface version, using extended approach ramps that are completely detachable; the P-9000LTF is the flush-mount version that sits recessed against the concrete for a drive-over installation. Because the ramps come off, a shop that starts with the surface lift is not locked out of the flush layout later, and a shop with the flush model can add the extended ramps to run it as a floor unit. Very few pieces of shop equipment let you change your mind about the installation after the fact; this one does.

Air locks, and why the release matters more than the lift

The safety locks are automatic, multi-position and released pneumatically, which means a single button press disengages them and the lift comes down in one controlled movement. Air release matters more than it sounds on a low-rise lift: the lock mechanism sits close to the floor under a vehicle, and a design that needs a hand near it to release is a design that will eventually be released with a foot, a screwdriver or something worse. Remote operation removes the temptation. Around it sits a 1.5 HP electric-hydraulic power unit, dual hydraulic cylinders, a precision flow divider that keeps the two sides moving together, and push-button controls.

Perfect For

  • Fast-lube and quick-service bays converting a pit into a wheel-service bay without rebuilding it.
  • Tyre and brake work, where the open centre and free wheels are the entire argument.
  • Shops running low-stance cars, thanks to the 4 in. lowered height and the gradual extended ramps.
  • Home and collector garages that want a serious low-rise lift and have the floor for it.

What's in the Box

From this product's own feature list: the lift with its reinforced parallel lifting arms and reinforced upper platform, the dual-pump power unit with built-in proportioning valve, the automatic multi-position safety locks with air release, a durable rubber-topped pad surface, and rubber lift blocks — the current copy is explicit that the blocks are included rather than charged for. Every BendPak lift is also stated to come with an instruction manual, space for service records, a safe-lifting guide and a safety and training placard. The adjustable lifting arms are listed as optional, as is the flush-mount configuration. Anchors and anything not named here should not be assumed to be in the crate.

Certification, stated honestly

We are not going to imply an approval this product's data does not claim. Our record carries no third-party safety listing for this lift. That is not the same as saying it has none — it means we hold no evidence either way, and a product page is the wrong place to guess. The distinction that matters is between a manufacturer's own declaration that a design conforms, and an independent laboratory listing a specific model against the North American lift safety standard. Insurers, fleet policies and some local jurisdictions require the second and will not accept the first. If any of those apply to you, confirm the requirement with them and then ask us; we will put the question to the manufacturer and give you the answer in writing before you order rather than after your inspector has been.

Shipping and Delivery

Freight only, to the lower 48 states, at a shipping weight of 1,502 lbs. (681 kg). That is not a two-person carry and it is not a pickup-truck collection. Arrange a forklift, a loading dock, or enough equipment and hands to get the crate off the trailer before the truck is booked — or take terminal pickup and arrive with something that can lift it. Residential delivery carries a residential fee, quoted live at checkout alongside the freight itself.

Inspect the crate before you sign. Punctures, crushed corners and shifted banding are what to look for, and anything you find belongs on the bill of lading while the driver is still there. A clean signature is your statement that the shipment arrived undamaged, and reversing it afterwards is difficult. Photographs at the tailgate cost nothing and settle claims.

Warranty and Service

BendPak's full warranty document is linked on this page and governs the terms; our record does not restate a period for this model, so we will not paraphrase one. Two things hold regardless. Do not disassemble a component before making a claim — a stripped part is normally treated as a modified part and the claim ends there. And keep the manual with the lift, along with the in-service date and any anchoring record, because those are the documents a warranty administrator asks for first.
