BendPak 2 Post Lift 10AP-168 10,000 lb.

One part number, two bay layouts — and you choose once

The BendPak 10AP-168 ships with an expandable top beam, which means the lift you take delivery of is not yet either a narrow lift or a wide one. You decide that when you set it out and drill the anchors, and every dimension that matters comes in a pair: overall width 135 in. (3,429 mm) or 145 in. (3,683 mm), inside the columns 108.25 in. (2,750 mm) or 118.25 in. (3,004 mm), drive-through clearance 92 in. (2,337 mm) or 102 in. (2,591 mm). Ten inches of drive-through is the difference between a dually walking past the columns and a dually folding a mirror, and it is worth an afternoon with a tape measure and a chalk line before the crate is opened, because the decision is bolted into the floor.

The other reason to buy this specific model is height: at 168 in. overall it stands taller than the standard 10AP, which gives a tall technician room to stand upright under a raised vehicle instead of working with a bent neck all day. Capacity is 10,000 lbs. (4,536 kg).

Will It Fit?

  • Overhead. Overall height 168 in. (4,267 mm). Floor to the overhead shutoff bar 163.5 in. (4,153 mm) — that bar is what a tall roof actually touches, so size the building on the first figure and the vehicle on the second.
  • Width, narrow build. 135 in. (3,429 mm) overall, 127 in. (3,226 mm) outside the columns, 108.25 in. (2,750 mm) inside them, 92 in. (2,337 mm) drive-through.
  • Width, wide build. 145 in. (3,683 mm) overall, 137 in. (3,480 mm) outside the columns, 118.25 in. (3,004 mm) inside them, 102 in. (2,591 mm) drive-through.
  • Low cars. Minimum height with the pad fitted is 4 in. (102 mm).
  • Power. 220V. Get the circuit run to the column position shown in the installation manual before the freight arrives, not after.

Ceiling height, bay width and the electrical supply are yours to confirm before ordering; a lift that will not stand up in the room is not a warranty question. Our record states no concrete thickness or strength requirement for this model. A two-post lift transfers its entire load into the anchors, so the slab is the single most important thing under it — the installation manual linked on this page carries the figure, and we will confirm it in writing on request rather than let you guess.

Rise, and what you get back for the extra column height

Taller columns do not mean a taller rise on this model, and it is better to say so than to let the 168 in. figure imply it. Rise is 69 in. (1,753 mm), or 72.25 in. (1,834.7 mm) measured with the pad, reached in 45 seconds. What the extra beam height buys is headroom above the vehicle rather than under it: room for a raised roof, a roof rack or a ladder frame to clear the crossbeam, and room for a tall technician to stand rather than stoop. Time under the car is the same; comfort while you are there is not.

Forged arm restraints, engaged without being asked

The Automatic Swing Arm Restraint System is forged steel and grips through a full 360 degrees, holding each arm with over 2000 pounds of load-holding force. The case for it is specific rather than general: an arm is not at risk while a car sits still, it is at risk when a heavy component leaves an elevated vehicle and the balance moves across arms that are extended a long way from the columns. The system engages by itself as the lift rises, so there is no step for a busy technician to skip, and a quick-release lever lets the clamping pressure go when you want the arm to move. Safety locks work the same way — automatic on the rise, spaced every 3 in. in each column, released together from a single point.

Arms, pads and adapters

Bi-Metric arms cover symmetric and asymmetric positioning from one set, a 2-in-1 arrangement that removes the arm swap between a low coupe and a crew cab. Front arms come in to 22 in. (559 mm) and out to 47.5 in. (1,207 mm); rear arms run 29.5 in. (749 mm) to 57 in. (1,448 mm), with each arm rated to 2,500 lbs. (1,134 kg). The triple-telescoping design is what makes the short end of those ranges possible: the inner tube retracts back through the arm assembly instead of stopping against an end plate.

Double-telescoping screw adapters carry polyurethane pads and thread up or down for level engagement on an uneven frame — useful, because level lifting is a function of the pad, not of the lift. Optional 2.5 in. and 5 in. stackable adapters drop in for more vertical pad placement, and column-mounted racks keep them off the floor where they belong.

Cable, carriages and finish

Oversized 53 in. and 59 in. tall carriages run on a self-lubricating dura-glide UHMW polyethylene bearing system, so there is no grease schedule on the sliding surfaces. Equalizing cable is 3/8 in. (10 mm) high-strength multi-strand galvanized steel over oversized sheaves — sheave diameter is a service-life decision, since the same cable bent around a larger wheel fatigues more slowly. Power is electric over hydraulic, HVLP, with dual direct-drive cylinders, under 70 dB in operation, and the structure carries a powder-coat finish.

Perfect For

  • Shops with tall technicians, which is the plainest reason this model exists.
  • Bays that have not settled their layout and want the wide-or-narrow decision to stay open until installation day.
  • Mixed car and light-truck work where asymmetric door clearance matters on one vehicle and symmetric lifting on the next.
  • Home garages with the ceiling for it and a slab confirmed against the manual.

What's in the Box

From the manufacturer's feature list only: four triple-telescoping Low-Pro swing arms, double-telescoping screw pads, the padded overhead safety shutoff bar, expandable top beam hardware for either width, the automatic arm restraints, equalizing cables and oversized sheaves, and the electric/hydraulic HVLP power unit. The stackable adapters and their column racks are optional extras. Anchors and anything not named here should not be assumed to be in the crate.

Certification, stated plainly

The feature list for this lift states that it is ALI certified: an independent third-party assessment against the North American lift safety standard, which is a materially stronger document than a manufacturer's own declaration of conformity. Where an insurer, a fleet policy or a local inspector requires that listing, they will normally want it evidenced against your model and serial number rather than a claim on a web page. Ask us and we will obtain the documentation from the manufacturer before you order. The design is also covered by United States patent US11820632B2 and corresponding patents in Canada, China and elsewhere.

Shipping and Delivery

Freight only, to the lower 48 states, in a single crate listed at 150 in. x 24 in. x 30 in. and 1840 lbs. Plan the offload before you order: a forklift, a loading dock, or enough people and equipment to get a long crate off a trailer. Terminal pickup is the alternative if you have none of those, and it needs a suitable vehicle rather than good intentions. Residential delivery carries a residential fee, quoted live at checkout together with the freight.

Inspect the crate before signing. Punctures, crushed corners and banding that has shifted are the things to look for, and anything you find goes on the bill of lading while the driver is standing there. A clean signature is a statement that the goods arrived intact and it is hard to retract. Photographs at the tailgate settle claims.

Warranty and Service

BendPak's full warranty document is linked on this page and governs the terms. Our record does not restate a period for this model, so we will not paraphrase one here. Two points hold whatever the document says. Do not disassemble a component before making a claim — a stripped part is usually treated as a modified part, which ends the claim. And keep the manual with the lift, along with the anchor torque record and the in-service date, because those are the documents a warranty administrator asks for first.
