Description
-BendPak 10APX: arms that retract to 22 in. and reach out to 57 in.
Two-post lifts are compared on capacity, and capacity is rarely the thing that stops you using one. What stops you is an arm that will not go short enough to tuck under a low sill, or long enough to reach a pick-up point set well inboard on a pickup truck. The 10APX publishes both ends of that range: front arms from 22 in. / 559 mm to 47.5 in. / 1,207 mm, rear arms from 29.5 in. / 749 mm to 57 in. / 1,448 mm, measured at the pad.
The three-stage telescoping construction is what buys the spread — a triple-telescoping arm collapses shorter and extends further than a two-stage arm occupying the same space. Combined with drop-end Low-Pro arms and a minimum pad height of 4 in. / 102 mm, it is a 10,000 lbs / 4,536 kg lift that can genuinely take a lowered car and a work van in the same day.
Will It Fit?
The overhead beam sits at 157 in. / 3,988 mm, so this needs a tall bay — measure to the lowest obstruction, not to the ceiling, because lights, ducting and door tracks are what people forget. The lift installs in two footprints: overall width 135 in. / 3,429 mm or 145 in. / 3,683 mm, with 108.25 in. / 2,750 mm or 118.25 in. / 3,004 mm between the columns and drive-through clearance of 92 in. / 2,337 mm or 102 in. / 2,591 mm. That choice is made at installation and is the one thing you cannot revise afterwards.
Power is 220 VAC, 60 Hz, 1 Phase, and the unit is quoted at under 70 dB. Our record does not state the concrete thickness or compressive strength required. On a two-post lift the whole load reaches the floor through the anchors, so do not assume it — the figure is in the installation manual linked on this page and we will confirm it in writing on request. Ceiling, slab and circuit are the buyer's responsibility to verify before ordering.
Rise, and what a screw pad adds to it
Rise at the carriage is 75 in. / 1,905 mm. With the screw pad wound up it becomes 79.5 in. / 2,007 mm, and with a 63 mm adapter fitted on top of that, 89 in. / 2,261 mm. Those are three different answers to "how high does it go", and all three are correct — they just measure to different places. The number that matters to you is the one measured to whatever will actually be touching the vehicle.
The pads are double-telescoping and spin up by hand, which is how you level a vehicle whose pick-up points are not all at the same height. BendPak also offers stackable adapters in 2.5 in. and 5 in. heights, and frame cradle pads with 35 mm or 60 mm pins for trucks and SUVs with rectangular steel frames. Those are accessories, not inclusions.
The restraint, and the number to compare it on
An automatic swing arm restraint stops an arm moving when a vehicle shifts on the pads — which happens when a technician leans on a stubborn fastener, or when pulling a gearbox moves the balance. This one is forged steel, grips through a full 360 degrees, and is rated to hold against over 2000 pounds of side force. It sets itself as the lift rises, so there is no procedure to skip.
The other figure worth having is the per-arm rating: 2,500 lbs / 1,134 kg, against axle limits of 5,000 lbs / 2,268 kg. A load distributed badly can reach an arm limit while the total is still well under 10,000 lbs.
Perfect For
- Professional bays handling a mixed intake, from lowered cars to light commercials, on one set of arms.
- Shops servicing electric vehicles, whose lift points sit outboard and whose kerb weights punish under-specified arms.
- Serious home workshops with the ceiling height for a full-rise two-post lift.
- Tire and brake work where the asymmetric arm position keeps the doors clear.
What's in the Box
Two columns with the expandable top beam and oversized 53 in. and 59 in. carriages; four triple-telescoping Bi-Metric arms with double-telescoping screw pads and drop ends; the automatic arm restraints; safety locks spaced every 3 in. in each column with single-point release; the padded overhead safety shutoff bar; 3/8 in. (10 mm) high-strength multi-strand galvanised steel equalising cable over oversized sheaves; and the electric-hydraulic HVLP power unit, all in a powder coat finish. Frame cradle pads, stacking adapters and the WSA-100 air and electric work station — four 110V outlets with 20 amp industrial GFI protection, plus two air outlets — are separate accessories.

Certification
This lift is listed as ALI certified in its own feature list. In practice that means an independent body has assessed the design against a recognised lift safety standard, rather than the manufacturer declaring conformity on its own authority — and it is that independent assessment which insurers, fleet policies and some local code officials ask for by name. A line in a feature list is a good sign; a certificate tied to a model and serial number is what satisfies an auditor. If you need documentary evidence for an inspection or an insurance file, ask us in writing and we will obtain it.
Shipping and delivery
Freight only, to the lower 48 states, quoted live against your address at checkout. That is why no shipping figure is written into this page.
The carrier delivers to the kerb. Arrange the unload beforehand — a forklift on site, or terminal collection, which is often easier for crated columns. A residential address carries a residential fee. Warehouse pickup is available for this brand. Inspect before you sign and note any damage on the bill of lading at the time.
Warranty
The warranty document governing this lift is linked on this page; read the term and its exclusions there rather than in a summary. Whatever it says, do not dismantle a component you intend to claim on. Photograph it in place, leave it assembled and contact us first.
