Description
-Atlas 414A + RJ8: the alignment rack arrives with the jacks already paid for
Buy a four-post alignment lift on its own and you are not finished. The rolling jacks that let you get the wheels off the runways — for the brake job, the bearing, the tie rod you found halfway through the alignment — are almost always a separate line on the invoice, and they are not a cheap one. This package includes two RJ8 air/hydraulic rolling jacks rated at 8,000 lbs each, on a 14,000 lb capacity commercial-grade four-post alignment lift.
That is the reason to look at it as a package rather than as a lift. The alignment hardware is on the rack already, the wheels-free capability is in the box, and the day it is commissioned it can do alignments, brakes and suspension work without a second purchase order.
Will It Fit?
Read this section before you order, because it is shorter than it should be. Atlas publishes no dimensional table for this package on this listing — no overall length, no width, no column height, no drive-through, no wheelbase range and no concrete specification. We are not going to invent those numbers, and we are not going to borrow them from a similar model, because a four-post lift that is two inches too long for a bay is a freight claim and a very bad afternoon.
What we can tell you:
- Power. 220volt, single phase, and it requires a 30amp breaker. A dedicated circuit, run by an electrician.
- Air. The single point lock release is air operated and needs an external air supply, which is not included. The rolling jacks are air/hydraulic and need the same supply. No shop air, no lock release and no jacks.
- Unloading. The lift ships at 3,200 lbs. That is a forklift, a dock or a terminal collection, not four people and enthusiasm.
- Everything else. Call, text or chat with us with your bay dimensions and ceiling height before you order and we will get the factory measurements confirmed for you. That is a five-minute conversation and it is worth having.
Verifying the floor, the ceiling, the circuit and the air supply is the buyer's responsibility. Ask first.
Why the included jacks change what the lift is
A four-post lift holds a vehicle by its tires. That is exactly what you want for an alignment — the suspension stays loaded, at ride height, which is the only condition in which alignment numbers mean anything — and exactly what you do not want the moment a wheel has to come off. The rolling jack is the answer: it sits across the runways, lifts the vehicle by its frame or its lift points, and takes the wheels clear of the deck while the vehicle stays on the rack.
Getting two of them at 8,000 lbs each in the package matters for a reason beyond price. A shop with one jack does axles one at a time; a shop with two can pick up front and rear, or work a four-wheel brake job as a single operation. Each jack uses a scissor mechanism, which is what keeps the lift level rather than tipping as it rises, and each has multiple safety lock positions, a low-profile body that rolls in under a car without a fight, and a 4 piece truck adapter set included for frames that need reach.
Alignment hardware that is built in, not bolted on
The slip plates are built into the runways and the alignment turntables are included, so the two are level with each other by construction. The turntables can be set in more than one position along the runway, which is what lets one rack cover a short-wheelbase car and a long-wheelbase truck without compromise, and runway covers are included so the rack can be used as a general four-post lift when the turntables are out.
That last item is worth more than it sounds. An alignment rack that cannot do anything else is a bay that earns only when there is an alignment booked. With the covers in, this is a commercial four-post lift like any other.
Safety and structure
The lift uses a lock ladder design with a double lock safety system, and the locks release from a single air-operated point rather than being walked around and released individually — on a four-post that is both a time saving and a way of making sure all four release together. Steel approach ramps are included, the finish is a powder coat rather than paint, and the mounting hardware comes with the lift. Additional drive-off ramps and runway extensions exist as separate items if your work needs them.
Perfect For
- Alignment shops that want wheels-free capability from day one rather than as a later purchase.
- General repair shops adding alignment as a service line, using the runway covers to keep the bay earning between alignment jobs.
- Fleet and municipal workshops running light trucks and vans where a 14,000 lb rating leaves real headroom.
- Dealership service departments standardising on a commercial-grade rack with the jacks already specified.

Certification, honestly
No third-party lift safety listing is claimed in the data we hold for this package, so this page does not badge one. That is a live question on a vehicle lift in a way it is not on other shop equipment: some commercial insurance policies, some fleet operations and some local jurisdictions specifically require a North American third-party lift safety listing, by name, before a lift can be put into service. If any of those apply to you, verify the requirement first and ask us — we will tell you plainly what documentation exists for this model rather than implying something we cannot show.
Shipping and delivery
This ships freight, lower 48 only. The lift alone crates at 3,200 lbs and the jacks come alongside it, so unloading has to be arranged: a forklift with the rating and reach, a loading dock, or a collection you make from the carrier's terminal. Delivery to a residential address carries a residential fee. Freight is quoted live at checkout, not printed here, because carrier pricing moves and a number baked into a description turns into a dispute.
Inspect it before you sign for it. Check every crate — corners, banding, wrap — with the driver present, and write any damage onto the bill of lading before signing. A clean signature says it all arrived undamaged, and that is extremely hard to undo later.
Warranty, and a discrepancy to resolve before you rely on it
The two sources on this page do not agree, so here is both:
- The product feature list states 5 yr structural and 2 yr hydraulic, parts only.
- The manufacturer's summary paragraph states a 2 yr structural and 1 yr hydraulic warranty.
We are not going to pick one for you. If the warranty term is part of your buying decision — and on a lift it reasonably is — call, text or chat with us and we will confirm the current term against the factory document before you order. The RJ8 rolling jacks are separately stated as 1 year parts only.
Whichever term applies, one rule protects the claim: do not disassemble the lift, the power unit or a jack before the claim is agreed. Photograph the fault, call us, and let the process run.
