Description
-Atlas TC755 with EZ Assist Arm: The Column Tilts Back, So Nothing Is in Your Way
Almost every rim-clamp tire changer on the market swings its arm sideways off the column. The TC755 does not. Its column tilts backwards on a foot control, taking the mount/demount head and the whole arm assembly away from the table in one movement. That is the machine's defining feature and the reason it turns up in high-volume tire departments and large dealership shops rather than general service bays.
The difference shows up in the part of the job nobody photographs: loading and unloading the table. With a swing arm you are moving the arm, then the wheel, then the arm again, and there is a column beside you the entire time. With a tilt-back you drop the column away, put the wheel where you want it, and bring the column back. Repeated a hundred times a day, that is a meaningful amount of time and a meaningful reduction in the number of chances to catch a rim on something.
The Head That Does Not Creep
The second thing the tilt-back design buys is a pneumatically locking mount/demount head. On a machine where the head is positioned and then held by friction alone, the head can shift under load — and a head that moves while the table is turning is exactly how a rim gets gouged or a bead gets torn. Locking it pneumatically removes that failure mode rather than managing it.
Alongside it is a hand-controlled bead breaker mounted on the side of the machine, button-operated at the blade so the operator's attention and hands are at the wheel rather than split between the wheel and a lever elsewhere. It applies 5,500 lb of force, which is what is required to move a bead that has corroded onto a rim over several winters without resorting to violence that damages the wheel.
The EZ Assist Arm
This version ships with the E-Z right-side-mounted assist arm. It combines the features most operators actually use from the full dual-arm package into a single arm: a pressing/lifting disk, a bead roller and a pressing block. For a shop that sees regular stiff-sidewall and low-profile work but does not need two arms working simultaneously, it is the sensible middle position — the mechanical help where it does the most good, without the extra machine to work around.
Turntable Range
The TC755 comes standard with the extra-large turntable, and that has one very practical consequence: it will clamp most 26 inch chrome rims without adapters. Anyone who has kept a set of adapters on a shelf, hunted for them, and then fitted them for a single wheel understands why that matters.
External locking runs from 11 7/8" to 27 7/8", internal locking from 13 7/8" to 29 7/8", and the jaws move to three mounting positions along the turntable slide to widen or narrow the clamping range for the tire in front of you. Maximum tire diameter is 47" and the bead breaker takes wheels up to 18" wide. Plastic covers are supplied for the jaws so a clamped rim's finish is protected.
Will It Fit, and What Does It Need?
- Air. Jaws and bead breaker are air-operated. Supply 90-110 PSI from an external compressor and never exceed 140 PSI. A filter, regulator and lubricator are included; the compressor is not.
- Power. 110volt, single phase, for the electric turntable.
- Clearance. The column tilts backwards. Do not site the machine hard against a wall — allow the arc behind it, as well as room in front to handle a 47" tire.
- Assembly. Some assembly is required after purchase; it does not arrive ready to run.
- Delivery. 900 lbs. Forklift, dock or terminal pickup.
Perfect For
- Professional tire dealers where wheels-per-hour is the number that matters.
- Large car dealerships running a dedicated tire bay.
- Shops handling large chrome and alloy wheels that want to stop reaching for adapters.
- Busy independents replacing a tired swing-arm machine with something faster to load.
Included With the Machine
EZ assist arm, column-mounted inflator box with gauge, filter/regulator/lubricator, a 20" tire tool, a lube bucket with brush, a set of large plastic jaw covers, a plastic cover for the bead breaker shovel, and multiple replacement plastic inserts for the mount/demount head. A built-in Beadblaster is fitted for tires that will not seat on ordinary inflation. External air supply required, not included.

Certification, Honestly
The data we hold for this machine does not claim any third-party safety listing, and we will not imply one. That is a statement about documentation, not about build quality. Some commercial insurance policies, franchise standards and local jurisdictions specify equipment carrying a recognized independent listing — if any of those apply to you, confirm the exact requirement before ordering rather than after the machine is on your floor.
Shipping and Delivery
Freight only, to the lower 48 states. At 900 lbs you need a forklift, a loading dock, or to collect from the carrier's terminal. A residential delivery address carries a residential fee; freight is quoted live at checkout, so no figure is printed here that could go stale. Look over the crate before you sign for it and note any damage on the bill of lading in front of the driver — that notation is what a freight claim rests on.
Warranty
1 year, parts only, from Atlas. Parts are covered; labor is not. Replacement parts and wear items for this line are held in stock, which is the practical consideration on a machine whose inserts and covers are designed to be replaced. If a fault appears within the term, raise it with us before taking anything apart — a dismantled machine is the usual reason a covered failure stops being straightforward.
