Atlas LR06 Portable Low Rise 6,000 lb Scissor Lift

Two things about the LR06 are unusual enough to decide the purchase, and neither is its capacity. The first is that it genuinely moves: a standard wheel kit and a power unit stand are part of the lift, and they work together so one person can roll it across concrete — to a different bay, into a corner, or out onto the apron in front of the shop when the weather is good and the building is full.

The second is what it does not need. The safety locks are multi-position manual locks with a self-actuating lock bar, so there is no compressed air anywhere in the safety system. Plug it into a 110 volt outlet and it works. No compressor, no air line, no plumbing to run before you can lift a car.

Together those make the LR06 the low-rise you can put where the work is, rather than one the work has to come to. Capacity is 6,000 lb on a heavy steel frame, with rubber pads on the lifting surfaces.

Will It Fit?

Low-rise lifts ask nothing of your ceiling and very little of your bay. Check the footprint and the two heights.

• Overall width 70" (5' 10"), overall length 79 3/4" (6' 7 3/4"). Pad length is 53 1/4" (4' 5 1/4").
• Lowered height 4". A 4" low profile frame is what lets a low-slung car drive over it without grounding on the way on. This is the specification that matters most on a low rise, and it is the one that gets overlooked.
• Maximum lifting height 24" (2'). A wheels-and-brakes working height, not a stand-underneath height. If you want to walk beneath the car, this is not the lift for that job.
• Locking positions at 12 1/4", 18 1/2" and 22 1/4". Three mechanical heights, so you can set the car where the work actually is.
• Power: 110 volt. An ordinary household or shop outlet.
• Oil: 1.5 to 2 gallons of AW32 or AW46, not included. Order it alongside the lift.

Confirming your floor, your space and the route in is the customer's responsibility. One honest note: Atlas publishes no concrete thickness or slab strength figure for the LR06, and we are not going to borrow one from the anchored lifts elsewhere in the range. It is portable and free-standing rather than bolted down, but it still puts a loaded car onto a small footprint. Use it on sound, level concrete, and if your surface is anything else, ask us before you order.

Portable, Meant Literally

Most equipment described as portable is portable in the sense that it is not bolted down. The LR06 comes with the parts that make it move: the wheel kit takes the weight, the power unit stand keeps the pump and controls with the lift rather than tethered to a wall, and the two together let it be rolled across any concrete surface.

What that buys is flexibility a fixed lift cannot offer. A one-bay shop can bring the lift to the car in the yard; a busy shop can move it to whichever bay is free instead of shuffling vehicles; a home garage can use it inside in winter and on the driveway apron in summer. And when you move premises it comes with you rather than staying bolted to somebody else's floor.

Manual Locks, and Why That Is a Feature Here

Some low-rise lifts use an air-operated single-point lock release, which is quick but means the lift only works when the shop air is on, dry and up to pressure. The LR06 uses multi-position manual safety locks and a self-actuating lock bar instead: the bar engages itself as the lift rises, so the vehicle is sitting on mechanical locks rather than on hydraulic pressure without anyone remembering to do anything.

Lowering is done at the power unit. Press the button to raise the car to the working height you want; depress the dump valve lever and the lift settles to the next lower mechanical lock position. Simple, and independent of any other service in the building — which is the whole point of a lift you intend to move around.

The Two-to-Six-Inch Rule

One operating characteristic to know before delivery rather than after. Because of the horizontal cylinder configuration, you need to leave some space — roughly 2 to 6 inches — between the lifting surface and the vehicle's lifting points when you position the car over the lift.

That is not a defect and it is not a tolerance to ignore; it is how the geometry works on this design, and it is the single thing a new operator gets wrong on the first car. Position the vehicle with that gap, then raise.

Certification, Stated Plainly

Atlas publishes no independent third-party safety listing for the LR06, and we are not going to imply one. The distinction worth understanding is between an outside laboratory that tests a lift design against a published standard and then audits the plant that builds it, and a manufacturer stating conformity on its own authority. This lift is sold on the second basis.

In a home garage that rarely matters. It starts to matter when a third party is carrying some of the risk — an insurer covering commercial premises, a landlord's lease conditions, a fleet contract, or a local jurisdiction with its own rules for vehicle lifts. If any of those apply to you, settle the requirement before you buy, and ask us instead of assuming.

Shipping and Delivery

Ships by freight carrier within the lower 48, quoted live at checkout for your actual destination rather than a national average. Unloading is the buyer's responsibility, and Atlas is specific about what it takes: a forklift, a bobcat or skid steer, or a roll-back wrecker truck. Expect a full-size enclosed tractor-trailer to make the delivery, which does not suit every driveway or narrow street. Sort the equipment and check the access before delivery day, or choose terminal pickup and collect the crate yourself. A home address rather than a commercial one carries a residential fee. The wheel kit makes this lift easy to move once it is on the ground; it does nothing to get it off a truck.

The published shipping weight is 965 lbs. Treat that as the manufacturer's figure and confirm it with us in writing before booking unloading equipment — our catalogue carries a placeholder weight against this SKU that is obviously not real, and we would rather tell you than let you arrange the wrong help. Inspect the crate before you sign: photograph anything wrong, write the damage onto the bill of lading with the driver present, and keep your copy.

Warranty

The LR06 carries 2 years structural and 1 year hydraulic cover, parts only — the part is supplied, the labour to fit it is yours.

Fill and bleed properly at installation — trapped air is the usual reason a new scissor lift rises unevenly or settles, and it is not a failure. On a lift that gets rolled around, check it is standing on level ground before deciding anything is wrong: a lift set on a slope behaves like a lift with a fault.

If it is a genuine fault, leave the lift assembled. Photograph it in place, note what was on it and what it was doing, and call us before anything is taken apart. A component that arrives already dismantled has lost the evidence the claim rests on.
