Garage PRO9000 with RJ6 jacks — the air-operated version of the package

Two things separate this bundle from a bare four-post lift, and both are decided at the moment you order. The caster kit with polyurethane wheels is in the box, not on the accessory list, so the lift can be rolled between bays or out of the way of a car you are not working on. And the two bridge jacks that come with it are the RJ6, which is air/hydraulic — you press a control, the jack rises. Atlas also builds a hand-pump sliding jack for people with no compressor; if you have shop air, this is the package that uses it.

Underneath, the PRO9000 is the tallest and heaviest of the Garage PRO four-posts, rated at 9,000 lb, free-standing, and long enough in the runway to take a full-size crew-cab pickup rather than only a car.

Will It Fit Your Garage?

Measure before you order. Four numbers decide it.

  • Ceiling. The columns stand 95 3/4" (7' 11 3/4"). The runway tops out at 85" (7' 1"), which leaves 80 1/4" (6' 8 1/4") of clearance under the runways — enough to park a second vehicle below, and enough to stand under one comfortably. Your ceiling has to clear the columns, not the runways.
  • Floor width. 123 1/2" (10' 3 1/2") across the columns without the motor, 131 1/2" (10' 11 1/2") with it. The motor side is the side that surprises people.
  • Floor length. 227 1/2" (18' 11 1/2") overall including the approach ramp, which is 31" (2' 7") of that on its own. You need room to drive off the end of the ramp as well as to park the lift.
  • Drive-through. 97 1/4" (8' 1 1/4") measured outside of tire to outside of tire, with 110 1/2" (9' 2 1/2") between the columns. This is what a dual-rear-wheel pickup has to squeeze through.

Power is a 110-volt supply on a 30 amp breaker. That is an ordinary garage circuit, not a sub-panel project, and it is one of the real reasons this lift ends up in home garages. Checking your ceiling, floor area, slab and circuit is the customer’s responsibility — we cannot see your building, and a lift that does not fit is not a warranty matter.

Why the runway length is the specification that matters

Capacity gets the headline, but on a four-post the runway is what decides whether your vehicle actually sits on the lift. The runways here are 199 1/2" (16' 7 1/2") long and accept a maximum wheelbase of 187" (15' 7"). A long-bed crew-cab is inside that. So is a full-size van. The driving surface is 20" wide, 21 1/4" including the rails, with 35 1/2" (2' 11 1/2") between the rails — wide enough for a dually to track on without the outer tire hanging. Outside to outside, the pair measures 79" (6' 7"). Runway plate is 4 3/4" thick. The distance between the two runways is a contested figure on this listing: we publish 39 3/4" (3' 3 3/4") and the factory publishes less. There is a section below on why a bridge jack makes that worth asking about.

Why air/hydraulic jacks change how you work

A four-post lift holds a vehicle by its tires, which is fine until the job is the tires. The two RJ6 bridge jacks roll along tracks between the runways and lift the vehicle by its frame, freeing all four wheels for brake, tire and suspension work. Each is rated at 6,000 lb and runs on 70–115 PSI of shop air, and the scissor mechanism raises both pads together so the vehicle comes up level rather than tipping toward the heavier end. Maximum lift is 21" (1' 9") with adapters fitted.

They adjust from 35" (2' 11") to 55" (4' 7") wide and will span runways set 32" to 50" apart, so they are not locked to this lift alone. Adapters are supplied in two heights, 2" and 3", two of each, on a 1.5" peg. Each jack ships at 350 lb.

Perfect For

  • The home garage with a compressor already installed — the air jacks pay off immediately and the 110-volt supply keeps the electrical work trivial.
  • Collectors stacking cars, using the 80 1/4" under-runway clearance to park one vehicle beneath another.
  • Independent service centres wanting a lift that can be casters-on and moved when the bay layout changes.
  • Truck owners, given the 187" wheelbase ceiling and the dually-friendly runway spacing.

What’s in the Box

The lift arrives with the caster kit, steel approach ramps, a steel jack tray, four plastic drip trays and two rubber wheel chocks. The two RJ6 jacks come with a four-piece truck adapter set. Shipping weight is 2,300 lb for the lift and 350 lb per jack — worth knowing before delivery day. Compressed air is not supplied; the jacks need an external source.

What a bridge jack has to reach across, and why we flag it

An RJ6 works by bridging. One end lands on a runway, the frame crosses open air, the far end lands on the opposite runway, and only then do the saddles rise and take the vehicle off its tires. Everything the jack does is governed by the distance it has to cross, which is what turns runway spacing into a compatibility figure on a package like this one instead of a line on a datasheet.

The distance we publish and the distance Atlas currently publishes for this lift are not the same, and theirs is the narrower. Neither side has the better claim to being right: ours is the number that has been copied from seller to seller for years, theirs is the number on the factory’s live page. Guessing between them is not something we are willing to do on a page about putting a car over your head, so both positions are stated here and neither is asserted.

For the jacks in this box the practical answer is reassuring — an RJ6 adjusts across a span range that brackets both figures, so the pair supplied here fits whichever proves correct. Have the spacing confirmed by us in writing ahead of any purchase built around it: a jack you already have, a fixed-span jack bought used, or anything you mean to build into the channel between the decks.

Certification, stated plainly

Atlas publishes no third-party safety listing for the Garage PRO series. A manufacturer’s own rating is not the same document as an independent listing carried out by an outside testing body, and some commercial insurance policies, fleet programmes and local jurisdictions specifically require the independent one. Other four-post models in the Atlas range do carry that listing. If a listing is written into your insurance or your local code, tell us before you order and we will point you at the models that satisfy it rather than sell you this one and let you find out later.

Shipping and delivery

Freight only, lower 48 states, quoted live at checkout for your address rather than printed here where it would go stale. Between the lift and the two jacks this is a heavy consignment, and you must be able to get it off the truck: a forklift, a dock, or collection from the carrier’s terminal. A residential delivery carries a residential fee. Inspect the freight before you sign for it and write any damage onto the bill of lading while the driver is still there — once a clean BOL is signed, the carrier’s position is that the goods arrived undamaged.

Warranty

The lift carries 2 years structural and 1 year hydraulic, parts only. The RJ6 jacks carry 1 year, parts only. Parts only means Atlas supplies the component; labour to fit it is not covered. Do not strip a cylinder, a power unit or a jack down before a claim is opened — a disassembled part cannot be assessed, and that is the most common reason a legitimate claim stalls. Call us first and we will start it.
