Description
-Atlas Garage PRO8000 4-Post Lift with Two RJ35 Sliding Bridge Jacks
Every four-post lift has the same limitation: the vehicle sits on its own wheels, so the moment you want to touch a brake, a bearing or a suspension component you need something else. This package includes two Atlas RJ35 sliding bridge jacks, which is that something else — each one a scissor-mechanism jack that rides on the runways and picks the vehicle up off them at 3,500 lbs a piece.
Underneath the jacks is the Garage PRO8000, Atlas's popular 8,000 lb free-standing four-post. It is bought mostly for what it does with space: stack most passenger cars two deep and a single-car footprint becomes a two-car one.
Read This Before You Compare It to a Commercial Lift
Atlas is direct about what the Garage PRO series is for, and so are we. These lifts are designed and built for use by homeowners or restoration shops. They are not designed for use in commercial repair shops where they would be raised and lowered several times per day.
That is a duty-cycle statement, not a quality one. A lift that goes up on Saturday and comes down on Sunday is a different mechanical proposition from one cycling twenty times a shift, and the components are specified accordingly. If your use is the second kind, ask us and we will point you at the range built for it. If it is the first kind — and for most people buying a four-post it is — this is exactly the right lift.
Will It Fit?
- Ceiling. Columns stand 83" (6' 11"). Add the height of the vehicle going on top, plus clearance, and check that against your roof — remembering that a garage door track usually hangs lower than the ceiling itself.
- Width. 104 1/2" (8' 8 1/2") overall without the motor, 115" (9' 7") with it, and 94 1/2" (7' 10 1/2") of clearance between the columns.
- Length. 206 3/4" (17' 2 3/4") overall with the approach ramp, on runways 165 3/4" (13' 9 3/4") long, with the approach ramp itself 37" (3' 1"). Maximum wheelbase is 153 1/2" (12' 9 1/2").
- Track. 37" (3' 1") between the runways, narrowing to 31 1/2" (2' 7 1/2") between the rails. The driving surface is 18 3/4" wide, 21 1/2" including the rails.
- Working height. 72" (6') to the top of the runway, with 5' 7" of clearance underneath, and a drive-through of 80 1/2" (6' 8 1/2") outside of tire to outside of tire.
- Power. 110 volt with a 30 amp breaker required.
- Delivery. 1,800 lbs for the lift and 350 lbs for the pair of jacks.
Confirming ceiling height, floor length and width, door opening and the electrical circuit is the customer's responsibility. Free-standing still needs a level, sound floor capable of carrying the load at four points.
The RJ35 Jacks: What They Change
An RJ35 is a manual, hand-pump-operated sliding bridge jack with a scissor mechanism, and the scissor is the point — it lifts level, so the vehicle rises squarely rather than tipping as it leaves the runways. Each jack is rated at 3,500 lbs, adjustable in width to fit many four-post lifts, with adjustable arms to reach a range of lifting points and multiple safety lock positions so the load sits on steel, not on the pump.
They are low-profile and compact, they slide along the runways to wherever the lifting point is, and a four-piece truck adapter set comes with them — two each at 1.5" and 5". Maximum raised height is 11" without adapters and 17 1/4" with them, from a minimum height with the lift pad of 3 1/2".
Having two is the point. One jack lifts an axle; two let you take all four corners off the runway in sequence without dragging a single jack back and forth.
Storage First, Service Second
The PRO8000 is a storage lift that services well rather than a service lift that stores. The lock-ladder design with a double lock safety system carries a parked vehicle on mechanical locks rather than on hydraulic pressure, which is what makes it safe to leave a car up for months at a time; single-point release brings it off the locks from one control. Diamond-plated runways give grip when a car is driven on and off, the caster kit means the loaded lift can be repositioned rather than committed to one square of floor forever, and the four plastic drip trays stop the car underneath collecting what the car above drops.
Perfect For
- Home garages short on space — the stacking case, which is why this is the popular hobbyist four-post.
- Collectors storing vehicles long-term on mechanical locks.
- Restoration shops where a project sits up for weeks and needs wheels off periodically — the reason for bundling the jacks.
- Anyone who wants drive-on simplicity: no arms, no pads, no judgement about lifting points.

Certification, Stated Plainly
Atlas publishes no independent third-party safety listing for the Garage PRO8000, and we are stating that rather than leaving it to be inferred — particularly because Atlas does sell listed four-post lifts, so the absence here is a real difference between models rather than a gap in our information.
A third-party listing means an outside test laboratory validated the design against the North American lift safety standard and audits the plant that builds it. This lift is sold on Atlas's own specification instead. For a home garage that is normally a non-issue; it becomes decisive if an insurer, a landlord, a fleet contract or a local code requires a listed lift by name, because that cannot be added after purchase. Check first — and if a listing is a condition for you, ask us, because there is a listed model in this same capacity class.
Shipping and Delivery
Freight only, lower 48 states, quoted live at checkout against your actual address rather than pulled from a table.
Plan the unload before the truck arrives: the driver brings the shipment on a trailer and is not obliged to help get it off, so have a forklift or a dock arranged — or take terminal pickup and collect it with your own truck and trailer. Residential delivery is available and carries a residential fee.
Inspect before you sign. Walk the crate with the driver, photograph anything crushed or shifted, and write what you found on the bill of lading before he leaves. A clean signature closes the door on a damage claim; a noted one keeps it open.
Warranty
This is the section to read if you are cross-shopping Atlas four-posts, because the terms here are shorter than on several of them. The Garage PRO8000 carries a 2 year structural and 1 year hydraulic warranty, parts only, and the RJ35 jacks carry 1 year, parts only. Parts only means the component is supplied and the labour to fit it is yours.
Shorter terms are consistent with the duty rating rather than a warning sign — a hobbyist lift is warranted as a hobbyist lift — but it is a real difference and you should price it in rather than discover it. Used within capacity, on a level and sound floor, with the load parked on the mechanical locks rather than held on hydraulics, the lift will comfortably outlast the paperwork.
If something does fail: photograph it in place and leave it assembled. Stop using the lift and call us before any component is taken apart. An assembly that arrives already stripped cannot be assessed, and that is the most common reason a valid claim is refused.
