Description
-Atlas APEX9 Four-Post Lift with Two RJ6 Rolling Bridge Jacks
Two facts define this package, and one of them is a limitation we would rather you heard from us. The APEX9 is an ALI certified four-post lift rated at a true 9,000 lbs — and the two RJ6 rolling bridge jacks supplied with it are not ALI certified. Only the lift carries the certification. That is stated plainly here for the same reason it is stated in the manufacturer's own copy: a buyer who needs certified equipment for an insurer, a landlord or a fleet policy needs to know exactly which item in the box is covered, before the freight arrives rather than after.
The second defining fact is that it runs on 110 volt power. A 9,000 lb commercial-grade four-post that does not require a high-voltage circuit is unusual, and for a great many buyers it is the difference between installing a lift this month and rewiring a building first.
A certified lift that is still portable
The APEX9 is a free-standing, portable design. It does not have to be anchored to be used, and a caster kit with polyurethane wheels lets the whole lift be rolled between bays or out of the building — a job of minutes, not an afternoon. That combination is genuinely uncommon: portability normally belongs to lightweight hobby lifts, and certification normally belongs to bolted-down commercial ones.
It is also heavier than the Atlas Garage PRO9000, which makes it one of the more substantial portable four-posts available. Weight is not a marketing statistic on a free-standing lift, it is the reason the structure stays where you put it under load.
One thing to confirm with us before you order. The manufacturer's overview describes the caster kit as coming with the lift, while the feature list describes it as available. Those are different statements and we are not going to smooth over the difference: if the ability to move the lift is part of why you are buying it, ask us to confirm whether the caster kit is in the crate or is a separate line item, and we will check before your order is placed. Anchor bolts are separately listed as optional.
Extra tall, extra wide, extra long — and why each one matters
Atlas describes the APEX9 as extra tall, extra wide and extra long, and on a storage lift those three are not interchangeable adjectives.
Extra long is what lets the runways take a long-wheelbase vehicle — a crew cab, a long-bed pickup, a full-size van — without the front wheels hanging past the ramp.
Extra wide is what lets a diesel dually be driven onto the runways at all. Dual rear wheels are the single most common reason a four-post that fits everything else in a driveway suddenly does not fit the truck.
Extra tall is what makes double-parking work in both directions: something low can sit under something tall, or a tall vehicle can be raised over a low one. Combined with a lock ladder and a single point lock release, the lift is as usable for service work as it is for storage — which is why the runways carry diamond plate rather than smooth steel.
The RJ6 jacks: getting the wheels off a four-post
A four-post lift carries the vehicle on its tires, so brakes, wheel bearings, tire work and suspension all need a second lift under the axle once the car is in the air. That is the job of the two 6,000 lb RJ6 rolling bridge jacks included here. They roll along the runways, drop onto the axle or frame, and raise the wheels clear of the deck.
They lift on a scissor mechanism, which rises vertically rather than swinging through an arc, so the pads stay flat on the lift points and the load does not creep sideways as it comes up. They are air/hydraulic — an external air supply is required and is not included — with multiple safety lock positions so the axle is held mechanically once it is where you want it, and a four piece truck adapter set is supplied so you can reach a pickup or van frame rail rather than only a car pinch weld.
Will It Fit?
Power: 110volt electric operation, requiring a 30amp breaker. Read that carefully — 110 volt does not mean a household outlet. A 30amp circuit at that voltage is a dedicated run installed by an electrician, and plugging a lift into a shared household circuit is how power units get cooked. Price the circuit at the same time as the lift.
Air: the RJ6 jacks are air/hydraulic and need shop air. If your building has none, budget a compressor and a drop alongside the lift.
Ceiling, floor and footprint: the data we hold for the APEX9 does not include a dimension table, and we are not going to estimate ceiling height, runway length or footprint for you — on a lift, a guessed dimension is a returned pallet. Send us your ceiling height, your bay width and your door opening and we will check them against the current factory drawing before you buy. Slab condition is the owner's responsibility even on a free-standing lift: it must be flat, sound and level enough for the columns to load evenly, and the installation manual is the governing document.
Perfect For
- Automotive service centers — a certified lift with the duty rating for daily commercial work.
- The serious home garage — the classic case for this model: a homeowner who wants a professional four-post and needs it to move, or to leave, without a demolition job.
- Rented or shared premises — a free-standing lift you can take with you at the end of a lease is a different financial proposition to one bolted to someone else's floor.
- Collectors stacking vehicles — extra tall, extra long, with drip trays and wheel chocks supplied for long-term parking.
- Anyone who has been told they need certified equipment — with the caveat above about the jacks.

Shipping and delivery
The lift and the jacks ship as freight within the lower 48, and freight is quoted live at checkout against your real destination rather than printed on the page as an estimate.
Decide how you are unloading it before you order. At 2,975 lbs crated, the lift comes off the trailer with a forklift. If you have not got one and someone to run it, choose terminal pickup and collect the crate yourself. Delivery to a home address is available and carries a residential fee — tell us it is a residence at checkout so the shipment is booked correctly the first time.
Inspect the freight before you sign. Count the crates and cartons against the packing list and write any damage, shortage or crushing onto the bill of lading while the driver is still with you. Signing clean tells the carrier everything arrived intact, and reopening that afterwards is a far harder conversation. Photograph anything that looks wrong while it is still on the truck.
Warranty
The APEX9 carries a 5 yr structural and 2 yr hydraulic warranty, parts only; the RJ6 jacks carry 1 Year, parts only. Parts only means the covered component is supplied, and labor, freight and any equipment needed to fit it are yours.
The rule that protects the claim: do not disassemble a component before it is approved. An opened cylinder, power unit or lock assembly is normally treated as no longer inspectable and the claim can be refused for that alone. Photograph the fault, call us, let the claim be opened, then fix it. Keep the manual, your electrical paperwork and — because this lift can be moved — a note of where and how it has been set up, since a structural claim is judged partly on installation.
