Description
-Atlas 9OHSC Overhead 2-Post Lift with Lawn Mower Adapter
The columns on this lift are formed from a single piece of steel, 11' 10" tall, rather than assembled from bolted sections. That is the design decision the whole lift is built around: there is no joint in the load path, no bolted splice to check, and an extra-long carriage running the full height to spread the load into the column instead of concentrating it.
There is a consequence, and it is the one thing people miss when they buy this lift. You need a ceiling of at least 12 feet to stand the column up. Not to run the lift — to raise the column from horizontal to vertical during installation. The finished lift is shorter than that. The installation is not. If your building is a nine- or ten-foot garage, this is not your lift regardless of how the finished height reads, and it is far better to know that now than on the day the crate opens.
Will It Fit?
- Ceiling, for installation. At least 12 feet of clear height to raise the one-piece columns.
- Ceiling, in use. The lift stands 142" (11' 10") overall.
- Floor. 133 1/2" (11' 1 1/2") overall floor width, 125 1/2" (10' 5 1/2") outside column to outside column, with 109 1/2" (9' 1 1/2") inside the columns and a 100 1/2" (8' 4 1/2") drive-through.
- Concrete. A minimum of 4" of concrete at a 3000 psi rating. Verify this, do not assume it — the anchors are the entire connection between a nine-thousand-pound load and your building.
- Power. 220 volt single phase, 30 amp breaker recommended.
Ceiling height, slab thickness and strength, floor width and electrical supply are all the customer's responsibility to confirm before the lift ships. The ceiling one is the killer on this particular model, so measure it first.
What a 9,000 lb Lift Is Actually For
Atlas describes the range this lift covers as everything from a Smart Car to a Suburban, and that is a fair statement of the design brief: a smaller commercial repair facility or a serious home shop that needs a real, honest 9,000 lb rating rather than an optimistic one. The front arms are three-stage and the rear arms two-stage — the front pair need more telescopic reach because front lifting points sit further inboard on most vehicles, and building the reach only where it is needed keeps the rear arms shorter and stiffer.
Automatic arm restraints engage as the lift rises. Single-point lock release means both columns release together from one control rather than being walked around and released in turn. Dual hydraulic chain-drive cylinders raise the carriages, and rubber guards on the carriages keep the vehicle's doors off the steel.
The Lawn Mower Adapter, and What It Really Does
This combo includes the Atlas Lawn Mower Adapter (LMA) — two wheel platforms with four plates and all the hardware — which turns a two-post car lift into something that can raise an ATV, a UTV or a lawn mower. A two-post lift picks a vehicle up at four frame points; a mower has no frame points, so without an adapter the lift is simply the wrong tool.
The platforms are adjustable along the length of the lift arms to suit different wheelbases, taking machines from 32" to 90" of wheelbase, with 12" wheel well width and 1/4" (2 gauge) steel. The set adjusts in width to 8' 11" and ships at 600 lbs.
Two caveats Atlas states, and we are repeating rather than glossing over. First, LMA capacity is up to 5,000 lbs and varies with the lift and the wheelbase — capacity is higher when the plates sit closer to the columns, and the balance of the machine being lifted matters. Second, it is adjustable to fit a variety of lift sizes and brands but may not work with all lifts, and different positions on the arms may need blocks or shims to keep the platforms stable and level. Buying it as this combo removes the compatibility question with the 9OHSC; it does not remove the levelling one.
Perfect For
- Small commercial repair shops that need genuine 9,000 lb capacity and a tall bay.
- Serious home garages with the ceiling height and the slab to do it properly.
- Powersports, mower and small-equipment service — the reason the LMA is in this package.
- Rural and agricultural workshops covering cars, trucks, ATVs and mowers on one piece of equipment.
What's in the Box
- Both one-piece columns, overhead assembly, carriages, three-stage front and two-stage rear arms
- A free 12 piece truck adapter set — four each at 2", 3" and 6"
- Mounting hardware
- The Lawn Mower Adapter: four plates and all hardware, forming two wheel platforms
Not included: hydraulic oil (3 to 5 gallons of AW32 or AW46), the electrical circuit, concrete anchors, and the lift itself is not included with a standalone LMA — in this listing it is, because you are buying both together.

Certification, Stated Plainly
Atlas publishes no independent third-party safety listing for the 9OHSC, and we are not going to let one be assumed from the words "commercial grade". A third-party listing means an outside test laboratory validated the design and audits the factory, with the lift carrying that body's label. This lift is sold against the manufacturer's own specification and rating.
For a home shop or a private facility that is generally not a problem. It becomes one when an insurer, a fleet or municipal service contract, or a local building or workplace code requires a listed lift by name — and no amount of paperwork adds a listing to a lift after it is bought. Find out where you stand before you order. If you need a listed lift, tell us and we will show you which models qualify.
Shipping and Delivery
This ships by freight to the lower 48 states. The freight cost is quoted live at checkout against your actual address rather than pulled from a table, so what you see is what this crate costs to your door on the day you order.
Plan the unload before the truck arrives. The driver brings the shipment on a trailer and is not obliged to help get it off. A forklift, a dock, or a few people with an engine hoist and a plan all work; nothing works if the decision is made while the driver is standing there. Terminal pickup is the alternative — collect it yourself from the freight terminal with a truck and a trailer. Residential delivery is available and carries a residential fee.
Then inspect before you sign. Walk the crate with the driver, photograph anything crushed, punctured or shifted, and write what you found on the bill of lading before he leaves. A clean signature closes the door on a damage claim; a noted one keeps it open. It takes two minutes and it is the most valuable two minutes of the whole delivery.
Warranty
Atlas covers the 9OHSC for 5 years structural and 2 years hydraulic, parts only — the structural term on the columns, carriages and arms, the hydraulic term on the power unit and cylinders. Parts only means the component is supplied and the labour is yours.
Two practical rules. Install to the stated requirement and keep the record — the 4" of 3000 psi concrete is a warranty condition as much as a safety one, and damage traced to an inadequate slab is not a manufacturing defect. And never dismantle a component you plan to claim on. Photograph it in place, stop using the lift, note what it was doing, and call us before anything comes apart. A stripped assembly cannot be assessed, and that is the most common reason a valid claim is refused.
