Description
-AMGO XL-9F: a 9,000 lb flush-mount scissor lift that needs a recess and shop air
The XL-9F is a full-rise scissor lift rated at 9,000 lbs whose platforms telescope from 65 1/8″ to 80 7/8″, so one lift covers a short-wheelbase car and a pickup without swapping anything. Two things about it are worth knowing before the specification sheet: it is a flush-mount design, and its safety release is operated by air cylinders. Neither is a drawback, but both change what you have to have ready on the day it arrives.
Flush mount means the lift is intended to sit in a recess so the platforms finish level with your slab. That is what buys the clear, unobstructed bay this lift is bought for — you sweep across it, roll a jack over it and park on it. It also means the 13 3/4″ minimum height is a number about the recess, not about a ramp you drive up. And the air-operated release means the lift wants a shop air supply, not just power.
Why a flush installation is the whole point, and what it asks of you
A surface-mounted scissor lift is always something you walk around. Its frame, its hoses and its lowered platforms occupy the bay whether or not a vehicle is on it, and every other job in that bay works around it. Recessed into the floor, the XL-9F disappears when it is down: the bay is a bay again, floor space stays usable, and there is no trip edge in the middle of the workspace.
What that costs is groundwork. Somebody has to form the recess, get the depth right and get the surrounding slab right, and that has to be planned before the lift ships rather than discovered when it lands. The installation manual carries the pit dimensions and the concrete requirements, and we deliberately do not print a slab thickness or strength figure here that we cannot verify for your building. If your floor is old, cracked, post-tensioned or of unknown construction, have it assessed first — the responsibility for the foundation is the buyer's, and it is the single most common reason a lift sits crated for a month.
Extending platforms, and why the wheelbase range matters more than the capacity
The platforms are designed to extend, giving an effective length from 65 1/8″ to 80 7/8″. In practice that is the difference between a lift that suits the vehicles you have and a lift that suits the vehicles you might get. A short platform under a long wheelbase puts the contact points too far inboard; an over-long platform under a small car leaves the runway ends sticking out into the walkway. Being able to set the length per vehicle means the load sits where the structure expects it, which is a stability argument, not a convenience one.
Underneath, dual synchronous cylinders keep both platforms rising at the same rate. That is what keeps a vehicle level when its weight is biased — a heavy engine forward and to one side, a half tank, a loaded bed. The electric/hydraulic power system uses a 3.0 HP motor and a full cycle takes about 49 seconds.
The mechanical lock, and the air supply it depends on
The XL-9F holds a raised vehicle on a mechanical locking system. That distinction matters: once the lift is up and set down on its locks, steel is carrying the load and the hydraulics are holding position, not weight. A hydraulic leak on a locked lift is a repair, not a descent.
Releasing those locks is done by air cylinders, which is smooth and consistent in daily use and means you need a compressor and an air drop at the lift. Confirm you have one, or budget for it. A shop that already runs air tools will not notice; a home garage that has been getting by on a small pancake compressor should check the requirement in the manual before ordering rather than after.
Will it fit?
- Floor footprint: 74 3/4″ overall width, with 31 1/2″ between the runways.
- Platform length: adjustable from 65 1/8″ to 80 7/8″.
- Recess depth: the lift's minimum height is 13 3/4″ — the recess has to accommodate it for the platforms to finish level with your floor.
- Ceiling: maximum lifting height is 87 3/4″, about 7.25 ft. Your ceiling must clear that plus the height of the tallest vehicle you intend to raise, plus lighting and any door track running below the joists.
- Services: electrical supply for the 3.0 HP power unit and a compressed-air supply for the safety release. Confirm both with us before you order.
- Shipping weight: 1,903 lbs, which is a forklift-or-terminal-pickup number, not a two-people-and-an-engine-crane number.
Perfect for
- A professional bay being built or refitted, where the slab work can be scheduled and a permanently clear floor is worth the groundwork.
- Dealership service and PDI lines that want vehicles up fast and the aisle clear between jobs.
- Detail, wrap and paint operations where a raised vehicle and a floor you can walk cleanly around are both requirements.
- A serious home workshop that is already pouring or cutting a floor and would rather do it once.
What comes with it
The XL-9F comes as the lift with the equipment described above fitted as standard: the electric/hydraulic power system, the two synchronous cylinders, the extendable platforms and the mechanical locking system with its air-operated release. We are not listing adapters, pads or accessory packs our data does not confirm are in the crate. If a specific adapter or a longer air line matters to your installation, ask before you order and we will check the packing list rather than guess.

Certification, stated honestly
Our data for the XL-9F does not record an independent third-party safety listing for this lift, and we will not imply one. For most private buyers that changes nothing. For some it is decisive: certain commercial insurance policies, certain fleet and municipal operations and certain local jurisdictions require an independent lift safety listing by name, and a manufacturer's own declaration of conformity is a different document with a different meaning. If your insurer, inspector or employer specifies a listing, tell us which one before you order and we will put the question to the manufacturer in writing rather than answer it from a web page.
Shipping and delivery
The XL-9F moves as freight inside the lower 48. Your rate is pulled from the carrier for your address at checkout, which is why no shipping figure appears in this description — a printed number goes out of date and becomes a dispute.
Sort the unload out first. The truck arrives with a standard trailer and no way to put the crate on your floor; that part is the receiver's responsibility. A forklift turns it into a five-minute job. Without one, take terminal pickup so the carrier's own equipment does the work, or collect from one of the AMGO warehouse locations listed below this section. A residential delivery address carries a residential fee, shown at checkout before you pay.
Check the crate while the driver is still on site. Torn wrap, dented corners, snapped banding or a load that has clearly moved goes onto the bill of lading before your signature does. Pictures taken at the tailgate settle freight claims; a conversation a week later rarely does.
Warranty
AMGO warrants the XL-9F for five years on steel components, three years on hydraulic parts and two years on electrical components. Protect those terms with one habit: do not take apart a power unit, cylinder, valve or hose assembly before a claim is open. A disassembled part is treated as a modified part, and a simple replacement turns into an argument. Photograph the fault, note the serial number off the frame, and call us first.
