AMGO PRO-14E: the extended-runway version, and 28″ is the whole point

The E is for extended. The PRO-14E is the standard 14,000 lbs AMGO four-post with runways that are roughly 28″ longer, which takes the lift to 286″ overall with the ramps fitted and 245 1/16″ without them. That is not a styling difference. It is the difference between a long-wheelbase van sitting entirely on the platform and a long-wheelbase van with a rear axle hanging past the end of it.

If your work is cars and short pickups, the standard-length PRO-14 is the sensible buy and it needs less floor. If you regularly see extended vans, crew cabs, motorhomes and box trucks, the runway length is the reason this model exists.

Why runway length is a safety number, not a convenience one

A four-post lift holds a vehicle by its own wheels. Every wheel has to be on a runway, inside the platform, with the vehicle's centre of gravity comfortably between the axles that are actually supported. Run a vehicle too long for the lift and one of two things happens: you park it off-centre so the front hangs over the ramp end, or you creep the rear wheels toward the very end of the runway. Both put load where the platform was not designed to carry it, and both make the vehicle harder to get level.

The extra 28″ removes that judgement call for the vehicles it was built for. You drive on, you stop where the wheels sit properly, and the geometry is right without anybody negotiating with it.

Will It Fit?

The extended runway buys vehicle length at the cost of floor length, so this section matters more on the PRO-14E than on any other model in the line. Verifying the building, the slab and the electrical supply is the buyer's responsibility.

  • Length — check this first. 286″ overall with the ramps attached, 245 1/16″ without. Then add room in front to drive on and room behind to walk. Measure the bay before you order, not the vehicle.
  • Width. 130 7/8″ overall, 116″ between the columns, listed as 9.5 ft between columns with an 8.5 ft drive-thru width.
  • Drive-through. Over 100″ of clearance between the carriages — 102 1/16″ on the sheet. That governs how wide a vehicle can pass through rather than having to reverse out.
  • Ceiling. 86 3/16″ to the top of the structure. Your headroom requirement is your tallest vehicle plus the rise you plan to use.
  • Floor and power. Four base plates carry the load, so the concrete has to be sound under all four. The slab specification is in the installation manual attached to this listing — read it before you order. The power unit is 2.0 HP on its own circuit.

Stepless width, so long does not mean fixed

Length is what the PRO-14E adds; the adjustable track is what it keeps. The runway width is stepless — set anywhere within its range rather than at fixed notches — from 43 3/8″ to 94 1/2″ across the outside edges, with 87″ standard, and 47″ between the runways as delivered. A long vehicle is very often also a wide one, and a lift that gets the length right but forces a compromise on track has only solved half the problem.

Layered safety, on a lift that will be loaded near its length limit

The PRO-14E carries the same lock architecture as the rest of the PRO four-post family, and on an extended lift it earns its keep. A mechanical self-locking device engages automatically as the platform rises and is released with shop air, so the locked state is the default and unlocking is deliberate. Multiple primary safety locks sit along the travel: a failure means dropping to the next lock, not to the floor. A cable-slack protection system stops the lift the moment an equalising cable loses tension, which is the realistic ageing failure on any cable-driven design. Synchronisation cables are aircraft-standard, and the hydraulic cylinder runs high-quality oil seals with a compensation valve, plus flow restriction so a hose failure cannot become a fast descent.

Working habit still matters more than hardware: raise, settle onto the locks, work off the locks.

Working height

Maximum lifting height is 74 13/16″, and the maximum lock height to the top of the runway is 72″ — that second figure is the one to plan around, because it is where the lift will be resting. Underneath you get 68 1/2″ of clearance, 65 3/8″ at the highest lock. Lowered, the platform sits at 7 7/8″.

Perfect For

  • Van and RV service where wheelbase, not weight, is the constraint that keeps beating your current lift.
  • Fleet shops running extended cargo vans and crew-cab pickups on a daily rotation.
  • Storage of long vehicles — the platform holds the vehicle indefinitely on its mechanical locks.
  • Large home and collector garages with the floor length to take it. This lift is longer than most residential bays, which is exactly why the fitment section is above the specs.

What's in the Box

Supplied with the ETL certified power unit as standard, non-skid diamond platforms, the mechanical self-locking safety device with air-driven release, the primary safety lock set, the cable-slack protection system and aircraft-standard synchronisation cables. Accessories and anchor packages vary by configuration — if something specific is part of your plan, confirm it with us before you order rather than assuming it is crated.

Certification, stated plainly

The supplied power unit is ETL certified. That listing is genuine and it covers the electrical power unit — it is not a third-party safety listing of the assembled lift, and it should not be read as one. Those are separate documents issued by different processes. If an insurer, a fleet policy, a franchise agreement or a local inspector requires a whole-lift third-party listing, confirm the exact requirement in writing before purchase. Asking that question costs nothing now and is expensive to discover later.

Shipping and delivery

This lift moves by freight within the lower 48. Expect a call from the carrier to schedule; a 3,095 lbs crated shipment is not a doorstep drop. You need a way to get it off the trailer — forklift, telehandler or dock — or choose terminal pickup and collect it with suitable equipment. A residential delivery address carries a residential fee, calculated live at checkout with the freight. Warehouse pickup is offered at Manning, SC, Dallas, TX and Temecula, CA.

Inspect the crate before signing. Photograph anything questionable and write it on the bill of lading with the driver present. A clean signature is a statement that nothing was wrong.

Warranty

The current AMGO warranty terms for this lift, what they exclude, and how a claim is filed are on our warranty claims page. Check them there — a term quoted in a product description ages badly.

And the one rule that gets claims refused: do not disassemble a component before the claim is agreed. Report the symptom first and let the process run.
