Description
-AMGO PRO-14AE: an Extended Alignment Rack That Weighs 3,576 lbs
The AE in this model number is doing real work. This is the extended-platform version of AMGO's 14,000 lb four-post alignment lift: 285 1/2″ overall with the ramps fitted, a 245 1/16″ structure, and a published two-wheel alignment length of 204 5/16″. What makes it unusual is that it does all of that at a gross weight of 3,576 lbs — light enough that the building requirement stays sane, long enough that crew-cab pickups and long-wheelbase vans go on it without hanging off the end.
Slip plates are integrated into the runways and the turnplate pockets are adjustable, so it arrives ready for alignment work rather than ready to be converted to it.
The Numbers That Decide Which Vehicles Fit
On an alignment lift, capacity is rarely the limit. Geometry is. AMGO publishes three figures for this rack, and they are the ones to check against your typical job sheet before you check anything else.
| Min. four-wheel alignment | 94 5/16″ |
|---|---|
| Max. four-wheel alignment | 169 11/16″ |
| Max. two-wheel alignment | 204 5/16″ |
Between them, that covers compact cars at the short end through to long-wheelbase pickups and vans at the other. If the vehicles that pay your bills sit outside that window, no amount of lifting capacity will help.
Extended Platforms, and Why They Change the Job
A standard-length four-post asks a technician to compromise twice: once when the wheelbase is longer than the deck likes, and again when the front wheels end up too close to the ramp end for a comfortable turnplate position. Extended runways remove both. The vehicle sits centred, the turnplates land where they should, and the wheel that is being measured is fully supported.
The platform width is adjustable too — nominally 47″ between the runways with a stated maximum of 54 1/2″, and the outside edges sitting at 87″ and opening to 94 1/2″. Combined with the stepless adjustment AMGO fits as standard, you set the deck to the vehicle rather than choosing the nearest preset and living with it.
Room, Power and Floor
- Length. 285 1/2″ with ramps, 245 1/16″ without — near enough 285″ and 245″ for planning purposes, plus clear approach room in front of the ramps.
- Width. 130 7/8″ across the outside of the columns, 116″ clear between them.
- Height. The structure stands 86 3/16″. Maximum lock height to the top of the runway is 74″ and the maximum lifting height is 77 3/16″ — our listing rounds that to a maximum rise of 77″. Your usable ceiling has to clear the lift plus the tallest vehicle plus the rise you actually want to use, measured to the lowest fitting hanging from the roof.
- Drive-through. 102 1/16″ between the carriages, comfortably over 100″.
- Underneath. Maximum underneath height 68 1/2″, 65 3/8″ at the lock. Minimum height 9 7/8″ — that is how low the deck sits for drive-on.
- Power. A 2.0 HP unit, cycle listed at 81S. Voltage, circuit rating and disconnect are given in the manual that ships with the lift and is linked below; confirm them with a licensed electrician before delivery day rather than on it.
- Floor. The slab depth and strength AMGO requires are in that same manual, and meeting them is the buyer's responsibility. An alignment rack asks something extra of a floor: it needs to be flat as well as strong, because the lift can only be as level as the concrete it is anchored to.
How It Holds a Vehicle Up
The lift raises on aircraft-standard cable and holds on steel. A mechanical self-locking safety device with an air-released lock parks the platform on its primary locks, of which there are several along the travel, so a vehicle left up for a parts wait is supported mechanically rather than by hydraulic pressure.
Working alongside that is cable-slack detection. The realistic failure on a cable-driven four-post is not a cable letting go without warning — it is one corner going slack while the rest hold, taking the deck quietly out of level. On an alignment lift, level is the measurement, so this system protects your readings as well as the vehicle. The hydraulic cylinder is built with quality oil seals and a compensation valve, which is what keeps the lowering smooth and predictable instead of governed by how heavy the vehicle happens to be.
Who It Suits
- Independent shops adding alignment — it earns its floor space doing ordinary service work between alignment jobs.
- Tyre and suspension specialists whose work is long-wheelbase pickups and vans as often as cars.
- Fleet and municipal workshops aligning light-commercial vehicles in-house rather than sending them out.
- Serious home and collector workshops with the ceiling and slab for a four-post, where the lighter 3,576 lbs structure is easier to site than a super-duty rack.

AMGO's sheet also carries minimum figures of 3 3/8″ between runways and 43 3/8″ at the outside edges. Those are not credible as runway spacings and read as adjustment travel instead, so if the exact width range is what decides your purchase, confirm it with us rather than working from the table.
About Certification
The power unit supplied with this lift is ETL certified — a third-party listing of the electrical assembly, covering the motor, the pump and the control circuit, against a recognised safety standard.
It does not stand in for a North American third-party structural certification of the lift itself, and we will not imply that it does. Where an insurer, a local authority or a manufacturer's programme requires a lift-specific third-party safety listing, an electrical listing will not satisfy it. Get the requirement named in writing and speak to us before you order — that question is far cheaper to answer now than after the rack is anchored.
Getting It Delivered
Freight only, lower 48 states. Even at 3,576 lbs this is not a two-person unload.
Arrange lifting equipment before the truck arrives: a forklift with capacity to spare, a telehandler or an overhead crane. The driver will not unload it. Terminal pickup is a reasonable alternative if your site cannot, and AMGO warehouse pickup locations are listed further down this page.
Inspect before you sign. Count the crates against the packing list, photograph any damage, and write it on the bill of lading in front of the driver. A clean signature is treated as confirmation the freight arrived intact, which makes a later claim an uphill argument.
Residential delivery carries a residential fee, and freight is quoted live at checkout for your own ZIP code.
Warranty and Claims
Terms and the process are on our warranty claims page. Raise a claim before you dismantle anything: an opened cylinder or a stripped power unit is the single commonest reason a genuine failure ends up outside cover. Photograph it, describe the symptom, and call us first.
