Description
-AMGO PRO-14: 14,000 lbs in the smallest footprint of the family
There are three ways to buy an AMGO 14,000 lb four-post. One adds alignment hardware. One adds runway length. The PRO-14 adds neither, and for a lot of shops that is exactly the right decision — because both of the other two cost you floor space you may not have, to buy a capability you may never use.
This is the straight service and storage version: 14,000 lbs of capacity in 216 1/2″ of lift without the ramps, 257 1/2″ with them, and a crate that weighs 2,784 lbs. Powder-coated steel throughout, a 2.0 HP power unit, stepless runway width and a three-layer lock system. Nothing exotic. A lot of lift for a normal bay.
Will It Fit?
These are the numbers that decide whether the lift can be installed, and confirming them against your own building and slab is the buyer's responsibility — we have no way to inspect either.
- Length. 257 1/2″ with the approach ramps in place, 216 1/2″ without. Plan the deployed figure plus your own drive-on room. If that will not go in, the extended-runway PRO-14E is longer still, not shorter — this is already the compact one.
- Width. 130 7/8″ overall, 116″ between the columns, quoted as 9.5 ft between columns. Then allow real walking room either side rather than the tape-measure minimum.
- Drive-through. 102 1/16″ between the carriages, an 8.5 ft drive-thru width. This decides which vehicles can pass straight through instead of being reversed out.
- Ceiling. The structure is 86 3/16″ tall. Your headroom requirement is the tallest vehicle you will raise plus the rise you intend to use — not the height of the lift standing empty.
- Floor and power. Load goes into four base plates, so the concrete must be sound and level under all four. The slab thickness and strength requirement is in the installation manual attached to this listing; read it before ordering, not on install day. The power unit is 2.0 HP on a dedicated circuit.
Stepless width, and why notches are not good enough
The runways on the PRO-14 adjust steplessly — anywhere in the range, not at fixed holes. Between the runways that is 47″ as standard, with a minimum of 3 3/8″ and a maximum of 54 1/2″; measured across the outside edges it is 87″ standard, from 43 3/8″ to 94 1/2″.
The reason this matters is tyre placement. A vehicle is only properly supported when each tyre sits well inside its runway, not overhanging an edge. A notched lift forces you to the nearest available setting and accept whatever error is left. A stepless one lets you set the number the vehicle actually wants. On a lift that will see everything from a compact to a one-ton, that difference is the entire practical value of an adjustable platform.
Three locking systems, and a working habit that matters more
Lift safety is layered because any single mechanism can fail. The PRO-14 carries a mechanical self-locking device with air-driven release, so engagement is automatic and passive while releasing takes shop air and a deliberate action. It carries multiple primary safety locks up the travel, so a failure drops the platform to the next lock rather than the floor. And it carries a cable-slack protection system that halts the lift if an equalising cable loses tension — the realistic ageing failure on any cable-driven design, since cables stretch over years and slack is the first symptom.
The cables are aircraft-standard and the hydraulic cylinder is built with high-quality oil seals and a compensation valve. All of that is worth having, and none of it replaces the habit: raise the vehicle, lower it onto the locks, and work off the locks. Hydraulic pressure moves the platform; steel holds it.
Working height
Maximum lifting height is 75 1/8″. The number to plan against is the 72″ maximum lock height at the top of the runway, because that is where the lift will actually be resting. Underneath, there is 68 1/2″ of clearance, 65 3/8″ at the highest lock — measure that against your own standing height before assuming undercar work will be comfortable. Fully lowered the platform sits at 7 7/8″, which is the height the ramps have to climb.
Perfect For
- General service shops that want capacity headroom without buying alignment hardware they will not use.
- Light truck and van work where the vehicles are heavy but not unusually long.
- Vehicle storage and staging — the platform holds indefinitely on its mechanical locks.
- Larger home and collector garages with the ceiling and floor for a full-size four-post but not for an extended one.
What's in the Box
The lift is supplied with the ETL certified power unit as standard, non-skid diamond platforms, the mechanical self-locking safety device and its air-driven release, the primary safety lock set, the cable-slack protection system and the aircraft-standard synchronisation cables. It does not include alignment slip plates or turnplate pockets — that is the PRO-14A — or a rolling bridge jack. If a jack, a caster kit or an accessory package is part of your plan, ask us before you order rather than assuming it ships in the crate.

Certification, stated plainly
The power unit that ships with this lift is ETL certified — a genuine electrical listing, and worth having. Be precise about what it covers, though: it is a listing on the power unit, not an independent third-party safety listing of the finished lift. Those are separate documents and the first is not a stand-in for the second. If your insurer, a fleet policy, a franchise standard or a local inspector requires whole-lift third-party certification, confirm the exact wording of that requirement before you buy. We would rather you ask us now than discover it later.
Shipping and delivery
Freight only, lower 48. The carrier calls ahead to arrange a delivery window — 2,784 lbs of crated lift is not left at a kerb. Unloading is the customer's responsibility: a forklift, telehandler or loading dock, or take terminal pickup and collect it yourself with equipment capable of handling it. Residential delivery adds a residential fee, quoted live at checkout with the freight. Warehouse pickup is available at Manning, SC, Dallas, TX and Temecula, CA.
Inspect the crate before you sign the bill of lading. Photograph anything that looks wrong and write it on the paperwork while the driver is standing there. Signing clean is a statement that nothing was damaged, and it is very difficult to reopen afterwards.
Warranty
The AMGO warranty terms that apply to this lift, what they exclude, and the process for filing are published on our warranty claims page. Check the current version there rather than a period quoted in a description.
One rule sinks more claims than any fault: do not disassemble a component before the claim is agreed. Opening a cylinder or a power unit to work out what is wrong will usually void cover on that exact part. Describe the symptom to us and leave it intact.
