AMGO OH-15: a 15,000 lb two-post that never needs greasing

Ask a shop what wears out on a two-post lift and nobody says the steel. They say the carriage — the sliding surfaces that take the load up and down the column, and the pivots the arms turn on. The OH-15 runs self-lubricating UHMW polyethylene sliders and bronze bushings in those places. UHMW is the ultra-high-molecular-weight plastic used for conveyor wear strips and chute liners: it slides against steel with low, consistent friction and carries no grease schedule, so there is nothing to forget and nothing to attract grit. Bronze bushings do the same job at the pivots.

Around those wear parts sits 15,000 lbs of capacity, four two-stage arms, a single-point safety release and three selectable column heights — a fleet and heavy-service lift built to be left alone for years rather than serviced weekly.

Will It Fit?

A two-post lift puts its entire load and its entire overturning moment through two column base plates, so this section is the one to read twice. Verifying the ceiling, the concrete and the electrical supply is the buyer's responsibility — we cannot see your building.

  • Ceiling, and you have three choices. The OH-15 is supplied with adjustable height settings giving an overall height of 174″, 186″ or 198″. Pick the one your roof, lighting and door tracks genuinely clear — and remember a raised vehicle still has to pass under the overhead beam.
  • Bay width. 150 3/4″ overall and 123 1/2″ between the columns, or 10.25 ft. Add working room beyond that on both sides.
  • Drive-through. 109 3/4″ between the carriages, a 9 ft drive-thru width. On a two-post that figure decides what can be driven in at all.
  • Concrete. This is where two-post installations fail. The slab has to be thick enough, strong enough, level and unbroken under both anchor patterns — no expansion joint, no crack, no patch. The specification is in the installation manual attached to this listing; read it before you order. If you do not know what your slab is, find out before the lift ships.
  • Power. 2.0 HP at 220V, 60Hz, single phase, on a dedicated circuit sized and installed by an electrician. Confirm the electrical requirement with us in writing before a circuit is run — the note further down explains why, for this listing in particular.

Extension adapters: 75 1/4″ becomes 84 1/4″

Maximum lifting height at the top of the pad is 75 1/4″ as delivered. Fit the extension adapters and it becomes 84 1/4″, quoted elsewhere on the sheet as the 6 ft lifting height at the top of the arms. Locked, those figures are 73 5/16″ and 82 5/16″ respectively — and the locked number is the one to plan around, because a lift should be resting on its mechanical locks rather than on hydraulic pressure.

That extra height is not vanity. On a heavy truck the difference between working at 75 1/4″ and 84 1/4″ is the difference between stooping under a transmission and standing under it, and posture is a real cost on a lift used every day. Maximum rise under the arms is 68″ and a full cycle takes 84 seconds. How low the arm pads sit at rest is a separate question, and our own records do not agree on it — see the note below before you plan on loading a low car.

Four two-stage arms, and a release you can reach

The OH-15 uses four two-stage arms, which telescope to reach lift points on short- and long-wheelbase vehicles alike. On a lift rated for trucks that matters more than on a car lift: a one-size arm set either will not reach a long chassis or fouls a short one.

Automatic arm restraints lock each arm as the vehicle rises and release when it comes down, so an arm cannot swing out from beneath a load. The single-point safety release unlocks the lift from one side rather than a walk around to each column — a small thing you will do several times a day. Synchronisation uses aircraft-quality cable, and a detachable foot guard and tool tray come as standard, keeping the column base clear rather than becoming somewhere tools accumulate.

Perfect For

  • Fleet and heavy service shops running trucks that leave a lighter two-post working near its limit.
  • High-use commercial bays where a maintenance-free carriage is worth more than a feature list.
  • Buildings with a specific ceiling constraint — the three height settings are a genuine answer.
  • Mixed wheelbase work, which is what the four two-stage arms are for.

What's in the Box

Standard equipment includes the four two-stage arms with automatic restraints, the single-point safety release, the self-lubricating UHMW polyethylene sliders and bronze bushings, the aircraft-quality synchronisation cable, the adjustable height setting hardware, and the detachable foot guard and tool tray. Confirm the extension adapter set and any anchor or accessory package with us before ordering rather than assuming what is crated.

Two figures here are unsettled, and we would rather say so

Minimum pad height. Three sources, three answers. Our spec table and our own product record give different figures for how low the arm pads sit at rest; both are shown above and both are labelled. AMGO's current published specification gives a third, falling between the two. We are not going to choose one on your behalf, and we are not calling the maker's figure wrong either. Pad height is what decides whether a low car gets onto the lift at all, so if you plan to raise anything low-slung, get the pad height from us in writing before you order.

Electrical supply. The motor and supply figures above are the ones we hold, and AMGO describes the OH-15 in the same terms. They are not what this listing used to say: copy for a much smaller machine on a domestic supply had found its way into the description, and it has been removed. An electrician's work is expensive to do twice, so confirm the supply with us in writing before a circuit is run.

Certification, stated plainly

The OH-15 carries a CE marking and the manufacturer states it meets or exceeds European Standard EN-1493. That is a real declaration, but understand what it is: the manufacturer's own declaration against European directives, made by the maker rather than an independent body, and it is not the same document as a North American third-party safety listing of the finished lift, nor a substitute for one.

Some insurance policies, fleet operating standards and local jurisdictions specifically require that independent North American listing. If any of those apply to you, verify the requirement in writing before you buy rather than discovering it at an inspection.

Shipping and delivery

Freight only, to the lower 48. The carrier will call to book a delivery appointment; 2,394 lbs of crated lift is not a doorstep drop. You must be able to get it off the truck — a forklift, telehandler or loading dock — or select terminal pickup and collect it yourself. Delivery to a residential address carries a residential fee, calculated live at checkout with the freight. Warehouse pickup is available at Manning, SC, Dallas, TX and Temecula, CA.

Inspect the shipment before you sign. Walk the crate, photograph anything questionable, and write the damage onto the bill of lading while the driver is present. A clean signature is your statement that everything arrived intact.

Warranty

AMGO publishes a three-part warranty on this lift: five years on steel components, three years on hydraulic parts and two years on electrical components. Different parts fail in different ways, and the shortest cover marks what you should expect to service first. The exclusions and the claim procedure are on our warranty claims page, which is the live version if anything has changed.

One warning applies to every claim: do not disassemble a component before the claim is agreed. Opening a cylinder or power unit to diagnose it yourself is the surest way to lose cover on the exact part you are claiming for. Tell us the symptom and leave it assembled.
