The thing that keeps most shops out of the alignment business is not the aligner. It is the rack the aligner is supposed to sit on — a permanent, expensive, floor-consuming piece of steel that has to be bought, installed and then justified by volume the shop does not yet have. The DWA1100CWAS is the package built to skip that step. It pairs the wireless CCD aligner with four portable wheel stands, so the alignment happens on a two-post lift the shop already owns, in whichever bay is free.

Turn Plates on All Four Corners, and Why That Is the Spec
An alignment measures a suspension at rest. If a wheel cannot move laterally as the vehicle settles, the suspension is loaded against friction and the numbers you read are the numbers of a bound car, not a driven one. On a rack, that freedom comes from front turn plates and rear slip plates cut into the runways.
This kit reproduces both: locking turn plates on all four stands, with rear slip plates built in. That is what lets it handle independent four-wheel suspensions properly, and long-wheelbase light trucks, where the rear geometry is adjustable and therefore has to be measured honestly rather than assumed. A stand kit with fixed rear pads can hold a vehicle up; it cannot let the rear axle find its own position.
Reading the Capacity Correctly
The stands are rated 2,500 lbs each and 10,000 lbs for the set of four. The per-stand figure is the one that governs, because corner weights are never equal — a front-engined pickup can put well over a quarter of its mass on a single front corner, and the total rating is not permission to exceed the individual one. Check the vehicle's corner loading, not just its curb weight, when you are working near the top of the range. Confirming that a given vehicle is within the rating is the operator's responsibility on every job.
Wireless Sensors Built to Be Dropped
The sensors talk to the console over a 2.4 GHz radio link with a WiFi antenna, so there are no cables strung across the bay to trip over, run over or replace. They run on lithium batteries that hold a charge through around a day of regular use, which in practice means charging overnight rather than mid-shift.
The measurement element is a MEMS shock-proof silicon accelerometer. That is a deliberate durability choice and worth understanding: a dropped sensor is the most common repair on any aligner, and a solid-state element has no delicate moving assembly to knock out of calibration when a head slips off a wheel onto a concrete floor. The sensors are light, which reduces both the chance of the drop and the damage when it happens.
Software and Vehicle Selection
The system runs ARGOS-inspired software on Windows, supplied in its own cabinet with the computer. Vehicle selection uses a model ranking system that brings the entries you use most to the front instead of making the technician scroll a flat alphabetical list — a small thing that gets repeated on every job of every day. The wheel clamps take rims from 12″ to 24.5″.

The floor is the part to plan. Certification, Stated Plainly
This package holds a vehicle off the ground on four separate stands, so it is fair to ask what independent assessment sits behind that rating. The honest answer is that the material we hold — the manufacturer's overview, the feature list and the specification table — does not state a third-party safety listing or an outside conformity assessment for this equipment, and we will not imply one.
Where that becomes a practical problem is with the people who audit you rather than with the equipment itself: shop insurers, fleet and public-sector purchasing, and some local inspectors ask for proof that lifting or supporting equipment was assessed by an independent body. Decide before you order how the crate is coming off the truck. The driver brings the shipment to you; unloading it is the receiver's responsibility. Most shops take a machine of this weight off with a forklift. If you do not have one, choose terminal pickup instead and collect it with suitable equipment. Residential delivery is available and carries a residential fee, which is calculated at checkout when you select it.
Whichever you choose, inspect the crate before you sign anything. Walk the pallet, photograph crushed corners, punctures or a shifted load, and write the damage onto the bill of lading in words. A clean signature is a statement that the shipment arrived intact, and a concealed-damage claim is far harder to win afterwards.
