-Katool KT-MC1 Motorcycle Adapter for Wheel Clamp Tire Changers
A wheel-clamp tire changer grips a car rim by its flange, using jaws profiled for the width and shape of a passenger wheel. Put a motorcycle rim in the same jaws and two things are wrong at once: there is far less rim to hold, and what there is tends to be polished, painted or spoked. The KT-MC1 exists to fix that mismatch. It is a purpose-built holding fixture that fits onto the clamping system already on your changer and presents a motorcycle wheel to the machine in a way the machine can hold properly.
It is made for three named machines — the Katool KT-T800, KT-T830 and KT-T850 — and it attaches through their existing clamp hardware. Nothing is drilled, nothing is cut and nothing about the changer is altered, which means the decision is reversible on a Tuesday afternoon if two-wheel work turns out not to be for you.
What improvised mounting actually costs you
Improvised motorcycle mounting is common and it is expensive. Wheels get held on a soft jaw that was never shaped for them, and the results are predictable: the rim creeps under the bead-breaking load, the tool tracks across the rim edge instead of the bead, and the wheel that goes back on the bike carries a bright mark down the flange. On an alloy rim with a factory finish, that mark is the whole profit on the job and then some.
Holding the wheel correctly changes the geometry of every step. The bead is worked where the bead is, the rim is supported where it is strong, and the operator is not compensating with technique for a fixture doing the wrong thing. The tyre comes off faster, and it comes off without a story attached.
Steel that does not give
The adapter is built from Q235 and Q245 steel, which is worth stating because a fixture like this fails by flexing rather than by breaking. Under the loads a bead breaker applies, a section that deflects lets the wheel move a little at exactly the moment the wheel must not move. Adequate steel in the right places is the difference between a fixture that holds for years of daily mounting cycles and one that develops a wobble in its first season.
One station instead of two
The commercial argument is simple enough that it is easy to overlook. A dedicated motorcycle tire changer is a second machine to buy, a second machine to maintain, and a second machine's worth of floor to give up — for a service line that, in a general workshop, occupies a fraction of the week. An adapter puts that capability onto equipment already bought, already installed and already familiar to the staff.
It also lowers the risk of finding out. A shop that suspects there is motorcycle work in its area can test the idea for the price of a fixture rather than the price of a machine, and if the work materialises, the equipment decision can be made on evidence.
Changing over between jobs
Fitting and removing the adapter is quick, because it works with the clamp hardware rather than replacing it. That matters more than it sounds: if switching the machine over is a chore, motorcycle jobs get batched to a particular day, and batching is how a service line quietly dies. When the change takes a minute, a bike wheel that walks in at half past four gets done at half past four.
Before you order
- Machine model. This adapter is designed for the KT-T800, KT-T830 and KT-T850. Read the model plate on your changer rather than going from memory.
- Clamp hardware condition. It mounts through the changer's existing clamping system, so that system needs to be complete and working properly.
- The wheels you see. Motorcycle rims vary widely between scooters, sportbikes and touring machines. If your work includes unusual wheels, ask us to check suitability before you buy.
- Operator briefing. The adapter changes how the wheel is held, not how the machine is operated, so training is short — but do brief the team rather than leaving the first person to work it out on a customer's rim.
Perfect For
- Tyre shops and general garages already running a KT-T800, KT-T830 or KT-T850.
- Powersports and dealership service departments bringing tyre work back in-house.
- Rural and single-workshop towns, where the nearest dedicated motorcycle tyre service is a long ride away.
- Seasonal operations that see motorcycle volume for part of the year and cannot justify a machine that idles for the rest of it.
What is supplied
The KT-MC1 adapter assembly for wheel-clamp tire changers, for the machines named above. The product data does not break the assembly down into individual pieces and we will not invent a list — if you need to know exactly what arrives in the carton, ask and we will confirm it before you place the order.

Delivery and pickup
We ship to the lower 48. The carrier charge is calculated at checkout for the address you enter, so it reflects the real cost of getting it to you rather than a rounded guess, and warehouse collection is available if you prefer to fetch it. Check the item over on arrival — the mounting faces are the parts that matter, so any impact damage to them should be written on the delivery paperwork before you sign, with a photograph taken while the driver is present.
Warranty
Katool publishes a warranty covering its products and we can send you the current document before you buy. Should there be a problem, contact us before the assembly is taken apart or repaired locally. Dismantling ahead of a claim is routinely treated as modification, and it turns a conversation that should take five minutes into one that takes weeks.
Not certain your changer is one of the three this fits? Ask us before ordering and we will confirm it from the model plate.
