CEMB DWA3500 3D High Definition Wheel Alignment System

Most alignment systems are sold on their cameras. The more useful question in a working bay is narrower: will it hold the wheels that actually roll in? The DWA3500 answers that with a rim-clamp set that comes with extensions in the box — enough to offset front dually wheels and to take custom rims out to 30″ in diameter — and clamps designed to attach quickly without marring the surface they grip.

Around that sits a full 3D high-definition aligner for cars and light trucks: a motorised camera tower, a redesigned cabinet with drawers and housings for the computer, printer and accessories, and CEMB's own software. A one-year specification upgrade is included with the purchase, and a VIN barcode scanner is available as an option.

Clamp Range Is the Spec That Decides Your Turnaway Rate

Every alignment shop has a short list of vehicles it quietly does not want: the dually pickup whose front wheels sit at an offset the clamps were never sized for, and the 30″ custom rim on a lifted truck or a big SUV. Both are common, both are profitable, and both usually end with a phone call to a competitor because the equipment cannot hold the wheel.

Supplying the extensions as standard rather than as an accessory line is the difference between having that capability and knowing it exists in a catalogue somewhere. The clamps attach quickly and are designed not to mark the rim face during the grab — worth having on the wheels most likely to arrive on a vehicle where the customer will inspect them afterwards.

The Tower Follows the Targets

The camera beam is motorised and automatic: as the vehicle is raised to different heights, the tower follows the targets rather than waiting for a technician to re-aim it. The practical effect is that lift height stops being an alignment decision. The technician sets the vehicle where the suspension adjustment is actually reachable — which is not the same height for a strut as for a truck's front end — and the measurement follows.

Beam positioning was also chosen to keep the available space around the bay usable, which matters if the alignment position doubles as a general repair bay between jobs.

A Database That Stays Current, in Writing

An alignment database is only worth what its last update is worth. Specifications change with model years, with trim, and with suspension packages, and a system running two-year-old data quietly hands the technician a target that no longer matches the car on the lift.

The CEMB vehicle database covers cars and light trucks and is updated continuously, and the model ranking system is designed to get the operator to the right entry quickly instead of scrolling a flat list. A one-year specification upgrade is included with this system — read that as the manufacturer putting a term on how long your data stays current without a further purchase, and ask us what the renewal looks like after it, because that is an ongoing running cost worth knowing before you buy rather than a year later.

Diagnostics Beyond Toe and Camber

Reading targets in three dimensions lets the system report more than the four familiar angles. It detects wheel diameters, so a soft tire is identified as a soft tire rather than misread as a geometry fault. It also reports track, wheelbase and the diagonals — the measurements that tell you whether a vehicle has taken a structural hit and needs bench work before an alignment can hold. For a shop taking collision overflow, that is the report that justifies declining a job.

Power and Siting

Power is 110 VAC, 50/60 Hz, single phase — an ordinary wall circuit rather than a three-phase supply. The system ships at 685 lbs (310 kg).

The requirement to plan for is optical, not electrical. The camera tower needs an unobstructed view of all four targets across the vehicle's full working height, so the bay wants clear floor either side and nothing parked or stacked in the beam's path. Checking your bay dimensions, the lift you intend to align over, and the available outlet is the buyer's responsibility. Send us the layout and we will go through it with you first.

Perfect For

  • Independent repair shops adding alignment and needing one system that covers the cars and light trucks already on the schedule.
  • Tire and wheel shops fitting large custom rims, where clamp range is the whole business case.
  • Shops servicing dually pickups that currently turn those vehicles away for want of the right clamp offset.
  • Collision shops needing track, wheelbase and diagonal readings to document a repair.

What's in the Box

Set-up of the alignment system and on-site training on its operation are included with the purchase. The standard accessories supplied are the HD targets, a mobile trolley (part 46DW026402), a 24″ monitor, a brake pedal depressor (part 74A010479) and a steering wheel holder (part 74A010478). Wheel clamp extensions for dually offsets and large custom rims are included. The specification upgrade noted above is included; the VIN barcode scanner is an optional extra and is not part of the standard package.

Certification, Stated Plainly

Nothing in the material we hold for this system — the manufacturer's overview, the feature list, the specification table — states an independent safety listing or a third-party conformity assessment. We are not going to write one onto the page by implication. What the documentation says is what we will tell you it says.

Buyers who need to prove this to somebody else should ask before ordering, not after installation. Shop insurers, fleet and government purchasing offices and some local inspectors want evidence that equipment was assessed by an outside body rather than declared conforming by its own manufacturer, and that evidence is a specific document with a specific name. Tell us the exact wording your policy or inspector uses and we will take the request to the manufacturer for you.

Shipping and Delivery

This system ships by freight to the lower 48. The freight cost is quoted live at checkout against your delivery ZIP code, so what you see is the current rate for your address rather than a number copied out of an old table.

Decide before you order how the crate is coming off the truck. The driver brings the shipment to you; unloading it is the receiver's responsibility. Most shops take a machine of this weight off with a forklift. If you do not have one, choose terminal pickup instead and collect it with suitable equipment. Residential delivery is available and carries a residential fee, which is calculated at checkout when you select it.

Whichever you choose, inspect the crate before you sign anything. Walk the pallet, photograph crushed corners, punctures or a shifted load, and write the damage onto the bill of lading in words. A clean signature is a statement that the shipment arrived intact, and a concealed-damage claim is far harder to win afterwards. Call, text or chat with us if something looks wrong and we will open the claim alongside you.

Warranty

This system carries the manufacturer's warranty. We have deliberately not restated its term or its covered components in this description, because the warranty document supplied with the machine is the governing text and it is the one any claim is settled against. Ask us and we will send you the current document before you order.

One practical warning that applies to every machine we sell: do not take a suspect component apart before a claim is open. Manufacturers routinely decline warranty on assemblies that have already been disassembled, because a stripped part can no longer be inspected for the cause of the failure. Photograph the fault, write down what the machine was doing when it happened, and call us first.
