Quincy QGS 30 HP 132 Gallon Rotary Screw Air Compressor with Dryer, 3-Phase

The specification that sets part number 4152026545 apart from an ordinary tank-mounted screw compressor is the motor enclosure: a TEFC electric motor rated to IP 55 wash-down. That rating describes protection against dust ingress and against low-pressure water jetted from any direction. In practice it is the difference between a motor that survives a body shop, a wash bay, a grain or feed operation, a woodshop or a coastal workshop, and one that slowly fills with the dust and damp those places generate.

Around that motor sits a complete air system on a single skid: a 132-gallon horizontal receiver, an oil-injected twin screw airend rated for a 100% duty cycle, an integrated refrigerated air dryer, and an aftercooler — compressed, stored and dried in one delivery with one power connection.

Will It Fit? Siting and power

Footprint. The package measures 74" long, 30.7" wide and 72.2" tall, and weighs 1,365 lbs. The horizontal tank is what makes that footprint long and narrow rather than tall and square, which usually suits a wall run better than a floor island. It still needs a level pad and clear access to the hinged doors and removable panels, because that access is the entire reason the servicing is quick.

Electrical. The motor is specified as a 208-230/460V three-phase machine, listed as 3-Phase throughout. Quincy publishes no amp draw and no recommended breaker size for it — the specification says to consult a certified electrician, and we are not going to substitute a number of our own. Your electrician reads the machine's nameplate and sizes the feeder and protection accordingly. Involve them before the delivery is booked.

Air outlet and plumbing. The tank outlet is 1", which is where your shop main picks up. Plan the drop, the isolation valve and the drain access before the unit lands; the electronic drain valve is listed as not fitted on this configuration, so the receiver's condensate drain is a manual routine somebody has to actually perform.

Confirming that the room, the floor, the supply and the ventilation suit a continuously running machine is the customer's responsibility, and it is much cheaper to establish before the crate arrives than after.

What IP 55 wash-down actually protects you from

Motor failure on a shop compressor is rarely dramatic. It is a slow accumulation: fine dust drawn through the windings, humidity condensing inside a cooling machine overnight, an overspray mist that settles where nobody looks. A sealed, fan-cooled enclosure rated for dust and directed water breaks that cycle, and the payoff is not a performance figure — it is that the machine reaches its designed service life in an environment that would have shortened it. If your compressor room is clean, dry and climate-controlled, this rating is insurance you may not need. If your compressor sits in the same air as sanding, welding, washing or milling, it is the reason to buy this configuration rather than a plainer one.

Continuous duty, and the control that goes with it

The airend is an oil-injected twin screw rated for a 100% duty cycle, which means it is designed to run without a cool-down cycle rather than being rated for a percentage of each hour. Premium synthetic lubrication is specified for long service intervals with low oil carryover, and the fluid is monitored constantly with a spin-on filter for changes. Rotary screw compression inside a full sound enclosure is also markedly less percussive than a piston machine, which is what the quiet operation claim rests on.

The Infologic2 Basic microprocessor controller handles start and stop, programmable auto-restart and remote start/stop, and will network up to six compressors so a second unit can be added later without a separate control scheme. The display panel shows auto-run and alarm status alongside pressure, temperature and dewpoint — that last reading is how you can tell the dryer is doing its job rather than assuming it.

Perfect For

  • Body shops and paint operations. Wash-down motor protection plus an integrated dryer is the combination that matters here.
  • Woodshops, fabrication and grain handling. Environments where airborne dust kills motors before hours do.
  • Shops wanting one delivery, not three. Compressor, receiver and dryer arrive plumbed on a single skid.
  • Operations planning a second machine. The controller networks up to six units.

What's in the Box

Quincy lists this package as the QGS rotary screw compressor, the Infologic2 Basic Controller and display panel, the TEFC electric motor with IP 55 wash-down protection, the integrated refrigerant air dryer and the 132-gallon horizontal receiver, with an aftercooler, oil sight glass, pressure gauge, air filter and low-oil shutdown on both engine and pump. An electronic drain valve is listed as not included. Wiring, installation and commissioning are separate and are your electrician's and installer's work.

Certification ASME

Two rows above carry their unit in the row label and a bare figure in the cell, which is how the manufacturer's own specification block records them.

Certification, stated honestly

The specification sheet records an ASME certification for this unit, which on a tank-mounted package is the meaningful place for it — this configuration includes a 132-gallon receiver, and a coded pressure vessel is exactly what an inspector or an insurer tends to ask about. Beyond that, our product data records no independent electrical or equipment safety listing for the packaged machine as a whole. We are not going to imply one exists. If your jurisdiction, your insurer or your corporate standard requires an independent third-party listing on installed plant, confirm the requirement before you buy rather than discovering it at inspection, and ask us if you need the manufacturer's documentation up front.

Shipping and Delivery

Freight only, within the lower 48 states, priced live at checkout against your delivery address rather than estimated on the page. At 1,365 lbs on a long skid this is a dock or forklift delivery — you need equipment to receive it, or you can arrange collection from the carrier's terminal. Delivery to a residential address carries a residential fee, which is shown at checkout when it applies. Look the crate over before you sign, and write any damage onto the bill of lading at the point of delivery. A clean signature is very hard to argue with afterwards, and a handful of photographs taken while the driver is still on site is usually what settles a claim.

Warranty

Standard cover published for this unit is 1 Year consumer and 1 Year commercial. An extended 3 Year factory warranty is available, and the True Blue 5-Year warranty applies where the machine is commissioned by a Quincy authorised start-up. Note the shape of that: the longest term depends on who commissions the machine, so the decision has to be made before it is first run, not once it is in service. Whichever term applies, do not open the airend, the dryer circuit or the motor before a claim has been raised and assessed — a disassembled component is routinely treated as an unverifiable fault. Keep the commissioning record and the fluid and filter change history filed together; both are asked for.
